For Feds, Met and Exceeded my expectations. Would like for Klingons and Roms to be more involved. Would like to see the Krenn cruiser available for Klinks & Roms, eventually. And the old school K & R uniforms made available.
Had low expectations for the TOS stuff, and it met them, barely. Loving the Kelvin stuff. My AOY toon is decked out in Kelvin uniforms, using Kelvin weapons, cruising in a Kelvin Connie. Only complaint with the lock-box are the weak traits. Frankly I might as well call my experience with the expansion, AOK : Agents of Kelvin.

I made the toon for the free character slot. Probably will never be advanced as my other characters. I might just park her Rhode Island Science Vessel at the Dil mining asteroid and use her bank to put lock boxes in.
Saw the Jar Jar ships arriving, I left. Haven't bothered to log in so far, hoping people will get the ship traits then go back to non-Jar Jar ships again. If not, then probably won't bother logging in too often. There's only so much Jar Jar fangirling I can handle (and that's not much).
For some reason, when I started up a new 23rd century character, I kind of fell in love with the Pioneer class ship they give you. I have access to the Tier 1 TOS Connie, but I couldn't bring myself to switch. When I got to level 10 and had to move on, I went onto my level 60 and played through the new temporal missions, which, while entertaining, seemed as though they were trying to tie up a hundred loose ends with one knot and it also seemed like we were playing it a little loose with the temporal prime directive.
We should start up a new poll, who here hopped into their Prometheus Escort during the last mission so that they could say they were in an episode of Enterprise? Prometheus at Procyon
I was pumped for this expansion but I'd be lying if I said I had any real confidence in it actually re-igniting my passion for this game.
Well, it did. There's just something invigorating about seeing Cryptic actually go back to and faithfully homage traditional Trek aesthetics rather than the usual more original stuff, especially ships. I feel like I'm playing a Star Trek game again rather than just playing a game that's got some Star Trek in it as a backdrop for Original Alien Ships Online.
It's no LoR-killer by a longshot, but AoY has, for me anyway, more than made up for whatever disappointment DR brought.
I started with the first four missions that are available through a pre aoy character. With the way they're spread out I can appreciate how they're trying to give the impression that you're called upon at different points in your career.
I have yet to go very far with my aoy character. But so far I think I like most of the new things they've tried. I found the voice acting to be better than much of what I've heard in the rest of the game so far. Though I'm tired of hearing the one who does the computer voice everywhere (I believe we have s.a.g. to blame for that one?), I thought she really fit as the Romulan commander. For the film grain, I don't think I would have noticed so much if not for all the people whining about it. Now I'm more aware of it. *Dramatically shakes fist at whiners*.
I wasn't too sure if I was even going to make a character for this but the backstory I had for one other character tied them to the Temporal Agent. Plus I learned Vic Mignogna did some voice work for aoy. I was like, okay, you just bumped my interest up a notch.
What I'm kind of meh about is the way they sort of copied Delta Recruit. As in play through all the missions, get special rewards. On the one hand I can see this working with a new player. On the other this would be at least the third time through everything for many players. I have no strong opinions either way on this except for that I don't see myself playing through the entire game with my aoy character.
I still have a ways to go, which is why I didn't vote yet. I mostly like the execution up to the point that I've played.

Don't come back, I'm not putting down my Kelvin connie anytime soon or ever.
For me it did meet alot of what I wanted. Tho calling it a faction is kind of a joke really. We only get one ship that the other faction's can't get and its a starter, we can't get our own high ranking Boffs nor do we have our own LT ship(tho there is talk this is coming)
At the end of the day it did alot right and alot wrong.
It just about met my low expectations really. It was all more or less what I was expecting and they did a good job with what what they did actually do.
But I find myself really disappointed in the lack of mission/story content this so-called "expansion" has. I didn't expect there to be many anyway so expectation was met there. Still incredibly disappointing. I play for the stories.
I'm flying the Vengeance for a while. I intend to enjoy it.
Thread topic: I don't know about expectations. I didn't really form any. I bought the pack 'cause I liked the ships in it, and have been having a blast flying them while levelling up my Temporal Recruit. I like the new missions so far. There's less of them than I'd like, which makes me a little sad, but they're fun. Recruitment events are a delight, and this one in particular will basically make my Temporal Recruit at least temporarily my main. I'm good with that... my previous main is pretty much as well-equipped as I need her to be, so there wasn't much left to do with her.
It's given me stuff to do, and the recruitment event and the bits of story tied to it put an interesting spin on the launch content. I like it.
I already knew it was a Recruit Event. So I was no longer expecting a lot of missions and story to avoid most of the old arcs. Since many players wanted another event like the Delta Recruit. So my expectations dropped some on that.
What I was surprised in was the VOs using actors/actresses and clips from other recordings. So that was very nice. I loved the Film Grain effect, as this was a first for gaming in this. At least I know of. So that was really cool and added to the effect.
I wasn't really wanting to level this character up. But know I am to Lv50 for now.
USS Casinghead NCC 92047 launched 2350
Fleet Admiral Stowe - Dominion War Vet.
More story missions always good. New rep and spec, nice. Other than that, meh. Faction-restricted BS. As expected.
I suppose I'll grab the one Kelvin ship a Romulan is allowed...when it goes into the infbox and the price drops.
And the crossfaction temporal ships...maybe some day if there's a sale.
The Romulan Kelvin uniform I was tempted to buy, but decided against it. It'd probably turn out to be as ridiculous scam as the so-called Romulan Mirror uniform.
Loved it...,
I only had one "expectation" and that was it have the look and feel of the Original Series and it does that in spades, so I wasn't disappointed with what They gave us at all.

Heck, before they announced the expansion, I expected all what we would get for the Anniversary was a free (grindable) endgame Connie or something like that.
I kinda expected a bit of TOS story line, Delta Recruitment like rewards, and that was it.
But it's really in the details.
I did not expect that my TOS UI would sound different than the rest of the game. That I would get different SFX for a lot of stuff - SFX that sticks with the character. So many TOS themed combadges.
Most over all, I didn't expect to really enjoy all of that. I can appreciate TOS, but I am not one of the TOS Constitution For Engame fanatics. I prefer DS9. But it all turned out a lot more fun then I expected.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
I liked the revamped start and have done all the new starter missions with a temporal agent. I also like the new ships (in cstore pack, in lobi store, etc).
Unfortunately the new faction is a mess mainly because of the 2 missions to earn marks. I like that you can do badlands for extra temporal buffers, but that is only to get buffers...not extra temporal marks other than daily bonus. TO make any serious marks to get new temporal rep gear you have to repeat the primary marks missions....which in this case are the Doom escort mission, or battle of Procyon 5. Escort missions are too boring...I fall asleep before they are over with...especially since you cant damage the doomsay machine anyway. that leaves battle of procyon 5 which is a mess. It might be ok with a coordinated team, but with pick-up-group it just takes forever...especially the final level. With portals close together spawning adds fast in final level, and those ships doing aoe dots that interrupt portal close attempts, it just takes forever to make much progress. I cannot see myself grinding that mission in its current form for the next couple of months, and if not doign the new temporal faction there is not much point in logging in for this season once the new missions are done, right?
Hopefully the procyon pve queue mission can be tuned or revamped soon.
Not really an expansion at all, just a TOS tutorial. Fun, short story arc and 2 crappy queues. Basically adding another federation toon to my list. No thanks. That about sums it up! Now, bring a full cardassian expansion in to the game and we can start a new poll then!
I wish some other company owned the rights to the game.
It's kind of funny, because people said the same thing when Atari owned Cryptic. Then they went bankrupt and liquidated Cryptic, and PWE bought them up.
Careful what you wish for, that mysterious game company might just end up being even worse than what we currently have.

I've even become slightly attached to my AoY recruit and will likely keep him around.
lol nice avatar man!
Point of order: That's a lockbox thing. They're not technically part of the expansion.

I expected more than just 1-10 content for the TOS "faction".
I expected some way for a TOS character to continue to visit 23c ESD.

Was not as much of a faction as the Romulans, not even remotely.
Needed more stuff to do (like LoR) and less stuff to buy.
But I'm really enjoying the content and I think it turned out better than what I expected.
Some bugs here and there, but it didn't come close to my high expectations. I assumed more stuff would be broken. What a ripoff.
