-The Last Day of the Deprivation-

After tomorrow we will no longer be deprived!

No longer deprived of the long-desired T-6 Connie, no longer deprived of a Romulan Carrier, no longer deprived of all the content from the most recent Trek films!

In the past each expansion has been looked forward to, but there has always been some hint of fear - what if we don't like the changes?

Agent of Yesteryear is all good though! I think we can be confident in our hope that after tomorrow, the game will just be straight-up better.

I've always tried to mark the eve of big changes, and it's usually with a measure of uncertainty or even dread toward the future. This time I really am just excited!

So, say adieu to the Age of Deprivation!

Well, probably mostly bceause there aren't any real changes to begin with.
I mean the only actual change is the alternate tutorial for fed 1.5, aside from that there's nothing that impacts any other aspect of the game. We've got half-seasons with more of an actual impact.

Age of Deprivation being the recent week where the Infinity Lockbox dropped prices for Lockbox Ships and other items like a rock.

I'm sure scooping up all the new Lockbox ships and being able to resell them for hundreds of millions more ECs profit will definitely bring an end to the Age of Deprivation.

I look forward to enjoying a last influx of content before counterfeit takeover sometime next year.

being the KT Ships are in lockboxes, and knowing my luck, i could spend 200+ keys and not get one... until they go in the C-Store, which will never happen now, deprivation is still in full effect...

I think the general consensus here is that those who were in love with JJ's interpretation of Star Trek are going to love this season and the merging of universes, as are those who loved ENT for what it was and tried to be.

I guess I was one of the few who actually enjoyed the Iconian arc as a whole, mostly because it was something a little different, no mirror universe, no time travel (for the most part) and a sense of moving forward with the game. Not that this new season isn't any of that, but I'm not super amped about rolling a new character to having to burn through 5+ reps again.

Now this isnt a must, you dont have to participate in AoY but really who wouldnt, its something new and exciting and Cryptic put a lot of work into it, to which I am very thankful for. I guess my point is even if you don't appreciate JJ or even TOS themed missions, at least appreciate the work and dedication going in to a free game all of us here I can daresay love in some respect.

Yes, most of its shinies are lockbox and lobi locked, someone's gotta get paid for the work. I'll see you all back here complaining of not being able to log in on Thursday.. Even the haters.

I thought the Connie was a lockbox thing, I'll still be deprived unless one drops or they drop in price enough to afford. :)

Yet I am still deprived of the skin and mesh that comprises the Connie I desire at T-Endgame levels.

Yet I never complained about a Romulan Carrier - for I don't care for carriers one way or another.

Yet again I am forced to bear witness to Lieutenant Kirk, he of the rapid promotions and demotions all over the place. MY hero made Captain at the youngest age in Starfleet and kept it for most of his career (outside of an unsighly promotion to Admiral for a while, but I digress...) - via "exposure" to content from the Films in which he "starred".

You know what, whether or not I like the changes, however, doesn't mean that this isn't 'new content' and, perhaps (as evidenced by the OP of this post) favored by others not named "me".

Age of Deprivation continues for this little corner of the world, and going on an "emo-logical" rant like a certain "new" half-Vulcan we're all a "fan" of isn't going to get what I want when I want...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Given the massive amount of assets they'd need to modify or discard to do this, I think a counterfeit takeover isn't very likely at all.

As one of the rare ultra-wealthy (at least in terms of EC) posters on the forums, I can say without a doubt that the Infinity lockbox was a much needed pressure valve for the market.

For me deprivation will kick in when the infinity boxes are replaced by Kelvin boxes - this last couple of weeks I've bought 6 kemo 1, 6 Inspirational Leader, a leech and a Narcine, a month ago that would have cost me 3bn+ EC, I paid under 400m. Also got the summer intel escort and will get some more traits while they are cheap.

I want to play the retro levels, but:
    1. I loathe JJ Trek, I wish that timeline had been dumped into a new comic book that I could have ignored with much greater ease.
    2. I will not level another toon unless the specialisations I have completed on my six existing toons can be applied to a new one.
    3. Would have preferred a proper rom looking rom carrier in the cstore, I really don't want to fly a JJ ship at all.
    4. Why should I care about a fancy tutorial?

My gaming experience is still deprived. So the new AOY didn't help it only made it worse.

1 - I don't care for a Romulan Carrier. Or the KDF ship in the box.

2 - A new tutorial is like meh. I get to Lv10 and it starts all over. Along with a new scavenge hunt on each repeated mission. So here I will do the tutorial to see what it is about. Then put away my AOY unless something changes my mind. This alone kinda defeats the purpose of a Agent of Time.

3 - New JJ theme Universe. I hate those movies which are toilet puke fest. and will not see that part of the Arc. All my characters are Lv50 and above. And this is including my lower level alts. Which where my Delta Recruit from last event is in. Only way I see it now, would be my AOY goes there. Since they told its for the Lv40 range. Guess what, all my characters are in a whole different part of the story. So it don't fit their current agenda.

4 - What T6 Connie ?? They hadn't released one yet. So I still want one! This would actually get me motivated to level my AOY.

Sure, the Infinity Lockbox ended the deprivation for the masses for a lot of premium items. The deprivation of high profits for some will be gone tomorrow. Already been hinted at. Look at who voted which way in that recent Forum Poll about whether the Kelvin Ships should be in the C-Store or in a Lockbox.

Always consider the source for the true intent behind the words used.

I don't see TOS' Constitution-class at T6. I see some JJ Trek ships, but not the actual Constitution-class that the franchise was built on for its first 20 years.

Also, the only KDF & Romulan faction ships in the entire AOY update are tied behind a Lockbox, and thereby only a single character purchase. What's good about that?
