Remember our legacy when you have no more desire to play your Romulan.

KDF player snooping here, so I know exactly the problem of lacking faction-specific T6 sci ships.

One good point, though, is the actual margin between T5U and T6 is fairly small - one BOff power of varying rank. Successive balance passes have meant that Intel powers are not the be-all and end-all they were on release, with only Override Subsystem Safeties being regarded as a "must have". Other specialist abilities are more situational and it's always debatable whether you would be better off with a Tac / Eng / Sci (or lockbox, or event) ability.

Despite having splurged and bought a Paradox DN, my Klingon sci is back in his Korath T5U for a lot of reasons. It just feels better, as a properly Klingon ship. It actually plays better IMO, with a better balance of Tac / Intel / Sci power, and tricked out with epic gear it certainly holds its own. The Dyson Destroyers may not be in the same league, but the logic would hold (post DR, the KDF Command Science Destroyer was my ship of choice and remains the only ship I've paid to upgrade).

So what - keep the faith and fly a Romulan vessel. T5U is just as much fun as T6 and you can get a fair whack of decent stuff for the equivalent of 3000 Zen.

romulans are the best. I have also a sci rom (+ 2 tac, 2 eng). currently my sci rom uses the krenim science ship, but I plan to use the fleet dhelan (4 sci console slots, + 5 tac console slot (at least 2 useable for uni consoles) or the sci pilot ship (same stuff). the dhelan is an amazing ship. there is also the t6 tvaro, with a good boff layout.

my main problem is the lack of the + 10 auxiliary power (except the dsd), but even without that there are a lot of interesting ships.

I find it interesting how no one plans or has mentioned the "faction agnostic" ship

Probably because we're all charging our Disruptor/Plasma banks, against them. >:)

Fleet T5-U Rom, still rocks, even if the designation isn't "Republic Romulan". B)

they are not romulan, we need more real romulan ships (not like the awful T6 scimitar, they are an heresy :p )
personally, i don't like these strange temporal designs, they don't have real personalities, they seem impersonal.

Because it's as far away from a romulan ship as possible.
No singularity core, no singularity powers, standard power levels of 50, no battle cloak (though the raider has at least that).
Srsly with that 31st Wells-esque design and all it's as fed as it gets.

They can want me to make another fed with AoY and they are gonna be disappointed if I decide the account unlocks for this delta recruit v2 are not worth it. Even if the account unlocks are worth it, I'm already seriously tempted to just blitz the new AoY character up, unlock everything, claim it on everyone else and then delete to AoY character.

I recently deleted a fed-aligned reman and remade him as a kdf-aligned reman, I also made and leveled up a kdf-aligned romulan during the bonus exp weekend.

I currently have more kdf or kdf-aligned characters then feds and see no reason to make more feds.

If I'm asked why, well its mostly because the fed side is easy mode. If you need better gear at certain levels to do the next mission you get enough of it in a few missions before it.

Ship choice rarely makes things harder as a fed, unlike the romulans, pick a squishy ship and then try doing the final fight with the elachi over new romulus.
As for the kdf, I found that picking a cruiser usually made things easier, raptors tend to last longer either loaded for bear with torpedoes and mines so you kill almost everything with a massive alpha strike, or load them with beam arrays and fry everything over time.
The Birds-of-Prey have to handled just right at higher levels, with hit-and-run tactics working best, which means you have to slowly whittle things down (especially if you're not a tactical captain), though getting the timing right with all the Bridge officer / captain abilities and de-cloaking can be hard for newer players.

As for the bortasqu turn rate being bad, engine power levels, the 2-piece set bonus for the 3 ship consoles, various reputation and universal consoles or their set bonuses mean you can get plenty of turn rate out of it to use cannons. I have my Gorn engineer in one with all 3 consoles and it turns like a raptor without me even touching evasive manuvers or the engineer power boost.

Such is why Red & Green, need to work together, in order to complete with Blue. >:)

As an expensive alternative to the lack of a romulan T6 sci ship. the Nakhoul sci vessel has been rather pleasent complete with built in battle cloak. it almost feels like it was made for Roms. Is it perfect ? no , but as a sci ship it works rather well. Just expensive.

Luckily, there is a Romulan Sci Carrier being released soon. It's production costs may be prohibitive, but it still counts. ;)

except bort's already mentioned in a redit sub thread on sto redit. that the new rom carrier while it comes with gather intel powers and 2 hanger bays is NOT a sci carrier. it gets no sensor analysis and no sub system targetting common to a sci ship. But I do agree that the new rom carrier will be pricey no doubt.

An Intel spec'd Carrier, even more expensive than a Sci Carrier. ;)
