in Star Trek Online General Discussion
will we have a giveway before the release of AOY? each time before the release of an expansion, we had a giveaway.

    There's usually a summer giveaway towards the end of summer (usually in August). My guess is that they don't want to give away too much stuff.

    The last giveaways were in april so I wouldn't expect new ones any time soon.

    TOS Constitution. That's what I'm guessing anyway. That or a discount on it.

    all my toons have already the leech since a long time and i'm not interested by kemo or the other stuff (traits etc) :)

    And the giveaways are interesting when we have bank slots, etc ...

    btw, i don't need ships, costumes (now, I have no more fed toons). I see the giveaway like a tradition :)

    It has apparently devalued those particular items in the Exchange, due to them being somewhat easier to claim from said lockbox.
    So they have also dropped drastically in price on the Exchange and thus easier to get all around.

    There's been a huuuuge price drop on pretty much everything, that infinity box sure did a thing. Couple days ago the leech was sitting at 80+ million, now you get them for less than 20.

    You mean the T1 ToS connie? I doubt they'll give it away or sell it at a discount, considering it's included in the $20 and $130 Temporal bundles that people have already purchased. Also, a lot of us had purchased the ship years ago anyway.

    If you mean a T6 connie, you need to think about that for a minute. The only way I could see them giving something like that away would be through some kind of promotion where you have to actually enter to win it, meaning it would be a rather limited supply of free codes. Besides, at this point there has been no announcement (yet) that we'll get a playable T6 connie of any kind. (It's probably going to happen though)

    Gorn Science ship was before that - it was given toogether with T5 Ambassador.

    I doubt this is going to happen soon - but when there'S a Chance of Devs listening in, it's worth dropping a few hints (you reading, Santa?)

    Maybe we'll get some spec points the day the expansion launches. It would make sense, and it has been done before. Given that it is something that's useful to almost everyone, it's likely that we'll see it somewhere in the next 2 or 3 weeks. The same holds for other services like bank or inventory slots, something that would also be useful to have if the new missions give us useful and unique rewards.

    They probably want to wait until the newer players they hope to attract, are also in the game to enjoy the giveaway.

    I don't think we'll see any ships included this time, considering how many ships they will add for us to buy already. Unless it's something related to the storyline, like the Ambassador class. Lower tier ships are unlikely as these might discourage people to buy the Expansion ship pack.

    If it's not somewhere in the next two or three weeks, then it will probably be near the end of the summer event, as in earlier years.

    Right. It's not as though they're being less than generous. We get a AoY, recruitment... TRIBBLE it. I'd rather they skip the giveaway and release AoY today so I can get started on my time traveler.

    They are generous - the whole Temporal Agents Recruitment is almost one big giveaway...
    alright - it needs some grinding, but the account rewards more than make up for it...
