Man, ain't it great the way they can spam invincibility clones -and- the cone charge attack? And in any direction, too! It's like, you remember playing in the schoolyard as a kid, and there'd always be the one kid that you'd point at and go "Bang bang! You're dead!", and he'd go 'Nuh uh! I got a force field! And a mega cannon!' and so on. We all loved that kid, didn't we?

Sorry they made an enemy that encourages you to pick targets, to use torpedoes (because the copies have no shields), and to decide when to burn hard vs. just coast for attacks. No, wait, I'm NOT sorry. I hope they make more.
Oh, and unstable warp bubble for the win. I'll leave it to you to figure out why.
Right now there is still little need to actually target the right enemy, as you can just spam FAW or AOE abilities in general to solve the problem.
I find Tholians far, far tougher than Nakuhl.
Perhaps it's thier drain abilities, but I would much rather fight Nakuhl than tholians. They are a pain in the TRIBBLE.
yep, sam thing for me. tholians in cca for example are really a pain in the TRIBBLE (mega hp, drain skill, subsystems randomly shut off, + the torp)
Nak'hul are killed very easily.
As gameplay mechanics they are both mildly interesting, but hardly challenging. The waves are telegraphed and the ghosts are clearly labeled, without even a penalty for shooting the wrong target. Just fly out of the target cones when they appear and BFAW away as usual. All too easy.
But no, the fakes are not an annoyance. Just another mildly interesting gimmick that really shouldn't be worth any long attention. I didn't even notice the real ship was invincible until people started complaining about it.
Tell that to the poor freighters in the Na'Khul Red Alert that keep dying.
If you're doing your job and keep those freighters alive, there is actually a challenge there, because I see lots of runs where freighters die.
The bonuses for saving the freighters should be much higher, I suppose. Or there should be some dramatic cries of dying freighter captains. "Hull Breach, calling Emergency Evacuation, please help Aaaaargh". (The 5th freighter should also have a background noise that sounds like a crying baby...)

And yes, it can get especially annoying if you have to search for the clone of a ship while dodging cone attacks. But there is annoying-frustrating, in I just can't seem to find a way to win, and there is Annoying-darn looks like I have to do stuff and pay attention more.
I think the Na'kuhl are the latter, and I am ok with that, especially as a endgame level enemy. Not everyone should be a pew-pew your dead enemy.
And it's even more fun fighting them when piloting on of their own ships....they aren't the only ones with ghosts and mega-plasma shotguns!
