Part of the sun is visible through the walls on ESD.

Deep Space Nine too... And stars sometimes still rendered as low-poly spheres. That means effect rendered when it shouldn't and not rendered when it should.

I think it's a more general problem. I've now also seen this happen in the the "Sunrise" mission in space. The star is shining through my ship, asteroids and so on.

It seems to be showing in a lot of places it's not supposed to. If you could post any other locations you've seen it in this thread that'd be helpful. CrypticSpartan is trying to collect a list of all the locations affected.

I first noticed it on DS9 (ground). It looks like some of the stars have a lens flare effect and it's those that are affected.

I am seeing this in: Ganalda Station, DS9, both Fed and KDF Fleet Starbases, so far.
I am on the ground map for those locations, the sun is "coming through" the walls.

I can not for the life of me figure out where else I saw that sun through the walls thing....
I just remember thinking what a strange place to see it.
It wasn't Ganalda Station because I was just there and did not see anything.

My memory is not what it used to be. LOL!

Last night while DOFFing I noticed that suns associated to named systems in sector space was visible through the hull of my ship, while I flew by them.

It seems to be the animation (or whatever it is) on the sun, any sun that is causing this.

I've noticed the same effect on DS9 as well. I have the latest graphics card drivers installed too. I adjusted various in game, and graphics card settings and no change on the light effect/lens flare effect showing through the ground or map objects.

edit: I also made an in game bug report as well.

edit 2: the effect can still be seen through any ship or DS9 itself on the Deep Space 9 space map as well.

The reason the sun is visible through the walls is simple... you must have created a Kryptonian character ^^

Its not only the suns... I also have my deflector light shining through my ship.

This also happens on the Yorktown bridge and no, it isn't that kind of lens flare.

Well...if it is still going on....
Taco fixed it on a "branch" of the program that never made it to the live server with the Expansion.
Hope they are able to figure out which "branch" the fix went to. LOL!
