would you believe someone tried using the Romulan A.S.S. campaign as proof that our fraction isn't being neglected/ignored????!!
Did someone remind them of how long it took for us to get even that? And of the other things that KDF/Fed have that aren't exactly handed to us? Someone probably just need to go "*breathes in* Boi" to that particular person. Also, I may have seen that person...
actually the flow of the convo goes like this

-.- and for those of us that DONT WANT TO SAVE THE FRIKKIN FEDERATION?!?! Esp not from its own stupidity??
Or perhaps would rather focus on rebuilding after the Iconian War like we were promised?
Or even just enjoy our faction/fraction a little more with some extra content?
yeah thats what I thought... nothing

@ Tyrranus "Romulan Admiralty Campaign", yeah, that's totally about the Federation...

oooooo ahhhh I am totally overwhelmed that the romulan admiralty campaign that should have come with the launch of the admiralty system is finally coming... and its so cool too, I can assign ships to do offscreen missions... wow... so much fun I might faint.... Try harder Rev. thou art a fail troll
For those of us that ever held out any hope of independence for Romulans.... just give up now
at about an hour and twenty into the new priority one podcast interview Gecko was directly asked about it. He shut down the idea flatly with absolutely zero room to wiggle any hope in there. As the only positive to come of it, he didn't give lame TRIBBLE reasons or excuses, he stated the costs for multiple factions was far too high and that it was not cost effective in any way.
This gives me some hope the spoonhead fans are a s s out. They were addressed later and he seemed very uninterested in spending the costs for a 4th fraction but did state that if it ever did happen they'd get the same treatment we did. On the other side of that he found the idea of adding Cardassians, Jem'hadar, and a few other 'races' he thought of into the game via WoW's "Death Knight" mechanic possible and interesting. IE you get to level 50 on a character and this unlocks the ability to play a Cardassian, which starts at level 50.

new faction too cost intensive?
hmm - I agree that modelling Cardassia would cost a bit. Also some low level misssions (unless the mentioned "Death Knight mechanic" happens).
But considering that there'd be a ton of new ships and outfits to be sold - I guess the Investment would bring money. I think it would also bring new players. Remember how Long you had to queue up when Romulans were introduced? Actually Season 7 persuaded me to become a lifetimer.
That said: I have the feeling that the game is slowly declining. So maybe the Investment would not make profit...
18 characters
KDF: 2 tacs, 2 engs, 3 scis
KDF Roms: 3 tacs, 1 eng, 1 scis
FED: 2 tacs, 1 eng, 2 scis
TOS: 1 tac
all on T5 rep (up to temporal)
all have mastered Intel tree (and some more specs Points)
highest DPS: 60.982

According to the geck, the tutorial section is the worst offender because all the bugs have to be quashed (unlike the rest of their conten) and "everything has to be perfect" so that a new player learns the game mechanics. This is why he was more interested in the 'death knight' idea of unlocking mini-factions at level 50
Just so I'm sure... the "DK idea" is suggesting that a potential new faction would work like the Klingon faction used to work back when they had to be unlocked at Lv20--negating the need for a tutorial?

Ah yes, the ever illusive developer, who creates a quality product "just because".

Thus, no need to go over any tutorial missions with a fine tooth comb, because the player will already know what they're doing.

I wouldn't mind a Cardassian tutorial, not because of unfamiliarity, but to experience the beginning of a narrative.

And that could very well be done with a jump right into a mission. A tutorial isn't always needed to start a narrative, just as prologues aren't always needed in books, because they can just jump right in and get the same results.
They did a good job with the new tutorials. Especially the Republic one, where the entire Virinat story is played out as a full experience.
If a Cardassian faction becomes a thing, I think they have plenty to play with for a 'tutorialized' open, like the start of the True Way, experiencing a rebuilding Cardassia Prime, or something to do with them joining the alliance efforts.

Perhaps we should start to invest more, in Romulan exlclusive items. If we do enough of this, we could possibly see a changing, of the narrative.
How can we invest into it more when every ship that come out of the RR shipyard is either a Tac or Eng ships when Sci captain are out there asking for more Sci ships and nothing is being done about it.
The best way for people to enjoy the Rom faction is by adding Rom question and respons to the qestline like the way the do the class choices and diplomatic choices even if we are part of the Fed or what ever faction they want the Rom to be. we still have our own high command do we not.
"You ask why we give our ships computer normal emotions. Do you really want a warship incapable of loyalty?"

He thinks the tutorial adequately explains the game mechanics, how cute.
