Amount of Alts

I have basically 47 toons and 7 captains slots and I can't buy anymore it seems to have capped. I'm a lifer and you level incredibly fast in this game so once one is capped I make another. Usually its when I've had a spell away from game to reconnect with the basics, especially when theres been a big change like the new skills system

I'd also like a to be able to increaase my mail item cap, ever since its been altered you can't even keep spare boffs in your bank or swap them using the account bank. The extra bridge officers slots are only for using boffs, if you want to keep any for spares mailing them is the only real option once you have 15 on reserve. Cluttering your personal inventory is also not an option.

    Why do you even need more than 15 reserve boffs? :confused:

    If you're not using them, sell them on the exchange, or turn them into training manuals and sell those instead.

    3 feds, 2 roms and 1 Klingon and that is quite enough.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    I have one Fed (my main), one Rom (well, Reman actually) and one Klingon...given that my Rom is Fed aligned, I could POSSIBLY see myself doing a KDF-aligned Rom at some point but 47 toons? My god no...

    How many Human - (M/F) - (Tactical|Eng|Sci) boffs do you need? Since you can customize the look and rename them you shouldn't need more than 2 per captain.

    If you have race-specific crews like all Andorian then you need 0 of them for that captain.

    Sell the extras or feed them into the wood chipper for training manuals.

    I have 3 characters per faction let class...

    3 Fed
    3 Klingons
    6 Rommies

    But can make like 3 more I think...

    I've three characters, one in each of the different classes, at level 60. I do have a Romulan and Klingon character, but they're barely past the tutorial.

    5 right now, one of each on the fed side, 1 rom tac and 1 kdf tac. All at level 60 with my main at 20 on all R&D. With the grinding thats my limit at this time.

    I had 9 characters, one for each class, for each faction. Then Delta event hit. So my 10th character, my second Fed tac, and first alien character, a Lethean-Cardassian hybrid, was born.

    I have 10 (3 feds, 4 roms, and 3 kdf), but i think that i'm going to delete 2 of them (1 fed, 1 rom), and 1 of my fed will become kdf. the more I play with the kdf, the more I like this faction.

    Thats a lot of characters. Wow. So I'm a little confused on the numbers though. Is that 47 characters and 7 open slots left? And you're looking to buy more open slots?

    I have 6 feds, 2 kdf, & 2 roms, and I've been considering deleteing all of them but my main.

    I'm up to 14 alts now. Leveling through the story missions is by far the most fun I have in this game.

    I've only got about eight or nine and that's good for me... 47 is an extreme number and it's capped up in that range for a very good reason.

    4 characters will eat all your free time if you try to play actively with them. But 47... *shrugs*

    Gee am I missing something? I only have four and the only reason I have that many is I could not pass up the free character slot for a Delta Recruit. They are all level sixty but it is kinda hard for me to properly gear them all up the way I would like. I guess I will have five if a Temporal Recruit event happens. For me Delta Rising made STO alt unfriendly and I really do not need any more Admirals or Dahar Masters. Heck I just recently got my toons to where they were before Delta Rising hit. As far as extra BOFFS go I will only keep purple ones that I like and dispose of the rest in the various ways that others have mentioned.

    I have 3 mains. Fed, KDF and Romulan. Fed is ready for the Future Proof Arc. KDF is ready for the Iconian Arc. And Romulan is finishing up the Omega Rep. So my Fed and KDF is kinda at a stand still for now. While I been working on my Romulan. Which is done during the week, and first thing on weekend playing. I have a Fed Tac at Lv50, Fed Delta at Lv50, and Fed Eng at Lv50. KDF Tac at Lv50, and Fed Sci at Lv50.

    Lately I been swapping out my Lower Lv Alts to get them to Lv50. So they can start doing Rep work or mining Dil for gear upgrades. Which I will start on them during the week. And free up my other 3 mains to start their new story Arc. As I do FEs on weekends when I have time to do them. I try to rotate mine around some. So there will be days before I log into some of them.

    I have 9 captains on my primary account. They are divide into primary, second and tertiary captains based on the order they were created. I always play my primary and secondary captains when I log into STO even if that is only to queue up admiralty and Doff missions. At worse I only queue up admiralty / boff mission for my tertiary captains and not play any other content. Though on some days when I do not have a lot of time to devote to all 9 captains, then I do not touch my tertiary captains at all. I have 4 KDF Captains, 3 Fed Captains and 2 Romulan Captains.


    I have another 4 captains on a secondary account. This account was originally for testing some privacy settings last summer. However, I decided to actually play the KDF engineer captain from time to time; currently level 60. This is a free to play account only; I decided to experience what STO is like if I did not spend any money. During the giveaway I created the remaining 3 captains on this account; two KDF and one Romulan. The two KDF are definitely inactive made only to grab the free stuff that I could. As for the KDF aligned Romulan, I attempted to advance to level to claim the free T3 Valdore, but I only managed to get to level 15 before I was too tired to continue playing; currently level 31. I do not log into this account frequently. Most of the time when I do it is to simply queue up admiralty / Doff missions.

    I have 9 so that I have tac-sci-eng for fed-rom-kdf. I don't try to play them all actively, they are mostly parked except for the current main.

    DR saw a drastic reduction in staffing amongst my captains. Three is more than enough of a dil sink for me these days.

    If you really need to get that new ship smell back again I'd suggest making a fresh account.

    Prior to DR I had 9 toons, 3 of each faction with Roms split 2/1 for Fed/KDF alignment. With DR I rolled another 3 alts. All are now level 60 and maxed out with specialisations, storyline arcs, rep trees, the works. The only things left to max out are the new admiralty and the R&D trees.

    This game is very alt friendly. I also have 3 bank toons. But 47??? OMG.

    6 characters for me.

    4 Feds
    1 KDF (but she basically just a carbon copy of my main, for costumes, lol)
    and 1 Feddie-bear aligned Rommie.

    All of them are lvl 60, well, except one, with various reputations progresses. That being said, not much of an altoholic personally, so generally just playing my main Fed & KDF ones on any more serious levels.

    I have 5 at the moment. I have plans for 2 more when temporal agent recruitment comes around. After that, I'll only be willing to make 1 or 2 more for a potential Cardassian faction.
