Items Left On Old Ships Can Be Deleted In Special Circumstances

Recently I was updating my old ships to antiproton and some better shields. On my ships I had a few kit shields, one namely being the borg shield. The borg shield was grayed out as it was equipped over multiple ships. Upon updating the shields to my new version, I came to the realization my shield had been cleared or deleted or somehow inaccessible to me. I did not have it in my bank, inventory, or on any of my older ships. I brought my new ships out of storage but to no avail were my shields returned to me.

I'm pretty sure this could happen with any weapons or items equipped on old ships and removed in this fashion, and unless they are c-store items they are lost forever.

P.S. if I could somehow get my shields back it would be appreciated!

    Double check that it's not still in the Upgrade window waiting to be claimed, or that it hasn't moved over to the new Visuals tab of your ship.

    Sorry, I didn't mean the actual upgrade tab. In my case I meant upgrade as in switching out items for better items. When swapped with my current shields, the icon simply disappeared. I've checked every ship for the shields in every possible hidden tab but to no avail.

    Does it apppear in the list when you click the shield slot? Best be at ESD ground when you try that, since that has everything that can hold equipment.
