Can we please get a response on the Krenim Science Vessel not being able to equip the universal consoles from the Krenim Imperium Warship and Zahl Heavy Cruiser? There must've been at least three threads about this alone active during the Anniversary Event but none of those ever went anywhere. I would've necro'ed them instead of making a new thread entirely, but that would be a no-no and I wouldn't want to peeve the mods.
The Zahl Heavy Cruiser comes with the Temporal Shielding Matrix console, and the Krenim Imperium Warship comes with the Timeline Analysis Sensor Grid console. The description on both of these consoles states that they can be equipped on "Any Krenim, Zahl, or Nihydron Starship", yet they cannot be equipped on the KRENIM Science Vessel. Although this feature wasn't advertised in the dev blog that showed the stats for the Krenim Science Vessel, I and many others are viewing it as an oversight of some sort.
There really is no reason why the Krenim Science Vessel cannot equip these consoles, and allowing it to use these consoles would just be a bonus to anyone who owns these ships. It would be much appreciated if a dev could weigh in on this so we know if it was intended or not. As mentioned previously, it just seems like an oversight. If it is intentional, then I would recommend changing the descriptions on those two universal consoles to avoid further confusion within the playerbase.

Look at the last two Anniversary Ships. Their Consoles were part of four-piece sets that could be deployed on the Command Battlecrusiers (2015) or the Flagships (2016). The C-Store Ship Consoles, however, could not be deployed on the Anniversary Ships. So is the real reason that they don't want Set Consoles from any type of Paid-for Ship to go on Freebie Ships? Or is it just inadequate testing and more important priorities?
It doesn't take much these days anyway with the peeving.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
There is no practical reason for the KSV to not be able to equip these consoles, as it meets the criteria for it. That's why I'd lean more towards it being an oversight and not WAI, as this has happened many times before with the Fed Dreadnought Cruiser not being able to equip the Cloaking Device console (or was it the Molecular Cohesion Nullifier console?) when it was released, and the Alita not being able to equip one if it's Heavy Escort Carrier-family consoles at release as well. It seems like Cryptic just forgot that the KIW and ZHC had consoles that are stated to work on any Krenim ship when they released the KSV, and as such didn't code the KSV to be considered a valid ship by said consoles.
Did it by chance occur to you that when the console was put into the game that the Krenim Science Vessel did not exist, hence at the time of the consoles implementation its description was accurate. that cryptic haven't updated the description to reflect the existence of the science vessel is hardly surprising however but its most likely working as intended.
Either these consoles need to have their descriptions updated to clarify that the KSV can't use them, or the consoles themselves need to be made equippable on the Krenim Science Vessel. The fact that the KIW and ZHC came out before the KSV doesn't mean that it's some sort of "get out of jail free" card. Plenty of ships have been introduced since T6 was started have had their console sets retroactively changed by new additions such as those consoles that come with their T6 variant(s). This should've been no different, which is why I'm leaning towards this being a development oversight instead of WAI.
It definitely doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the KSV is an event ship, because the Nandi was allowed to use the console from the D'kora and the Nandi's console was made into a set with the D'kora's, both of which are also retroactive changes. Therefore there is a precedent for this which is why making it so the KSV can use these consoles is not an unreasonable request by any means.
