Star Trek big 50 celebration

So I was thinking about how STO/Cryptic can celebrate star treks big 50years. How about a five week event leading up to the big day, each week from thursday after maintainance there would a daily give away until monday. Each week's giveaway would be represented by a different star trek show, starting from the most recent leading back to the TOS which started it all.
Week one would be 'Enterprise weekend' the giveaways for the 5 days (thu-fri) would reflect from that show.
Week two would be 'Voyager weekend'
Week three would be 'DS9 weekend'
Week four would be 'TNG weekend'
Week five would be 'TOS' but instead of ending on monday the TOS week goes until thursday and ends at start of maint.
Now of course including giveaway stuff from the different series would also mean including the various movies as well, I don't it to get bogged down with the intricasies of the various episodes because that would complicate things needlessly.

    It'd be nice, but 27 giveaways? That's a bit much to ask.

    I agree with this. If this does not happen. Possibly the T6 sovereign class. Possibly more revamps. Possibly a Star Trek Online 2.0. More actors and actresses voicing.

    I read the Ops comment as saying "Give me all stuff free for the 50th pweese", just sounds like someone wants all the shinies for free :/

    This is something i have been thinking about alot. And as it was talked about on P1 we have been told we are not thinking big enough. So I would say, 1 TV show and movies themed mission, with some new MK XII sets and a ship, also 3 or 4 epic admiralty cards, based on the themes.

    Admiralty: All these can be used no matter the faction.

    Gal Gath'thong (Rom ship)

    U.S.S. Excelsior

    Kazon Raider (only because it was on alot compared to other ships).
    Delta flyer (because why not)

    ENTERPISE NX class

    The Ni'Var

    All these ships would be epics of course but i have no idea on the stats or rank as so far all epic ones have been T6.

    The giveaways don't all have to be ships, it could uniforms, boffs, doffs, gear...a mixture of things to keep fun. Besides if they do give ships away I would think nothing more than T5 that we would have to pay to upgrade or T1-T4

    I don't know how we'll get a week of giveaways with an Enterprise theme though. We only have a few C-Store items, and pretty much can get them all via Enterprise Bundle.

    Now if they added the Enterprise era MACO gear and some Enterprise era Phase weapons as well...

    And I would love to see the ST5/6 Phaser Pistol, TNG Phaser II and Phaser Rifle as well as Crusher's Lab Coat...

    I'm in total agreement. Every post I make pretty much pushes for the 50'th anniversary to give us a more complete 23rd century movie-era costume packs. Kicks admiral tunics from Star Trek 3 and 4. Scott's vest and the security officers from Star Trek six undiscovered country. Also wrath of khan communicator animation and transporter effect, along with wrath of khan phasers and Star Trek 6 assault phaser pistol. We need authentic phaser beams for ships and ground weapons, those pulsing beams are easy to reproduce. We see them with the assault mini guns. And a special stun beam that consists of several tiny beams that set things on fire, just like when Kirk ignited the ear bug on fire in wrath of khan...

    I'd use a Star Trek 6 or even wrath of khan bridge and ship interior for my excelsior or t6 flagship. I love the first six movies era, and I think that sto dev teams need to consider the immersion factor with their players. Many players such as myself would not only buy these iconic classic bundles, with authentic interiors and costumes to play from the beginning, but it would greatly allow role playing and foundry content to hit a boom.

    Giveaways would be a cheap way to celebrate the 50th. I'm hoping for a mission(s) covering the whole timeline with voice actors from all series and a good Trek ending. Basically, a supercut.

    The giveaways would just be one part of the 50th celebration...they lead up to whatever plans they have in place for the celebration.

    Worf's season 1 sash? That was made available as a character unlock during TNG's anniversary. Same with his gotee and hairstyle.

    I love giveaways, who doesn't, they probably will do a giveaway on the big 50 but 27 giveaways would never happen, it's way too much stuff to give for free in one go, unless it happened to be all the tat that nobody actually buys, like non-combat pets (really does anyone /really/ pay 300 zen or whatever it is for those... really?)

    So yeah something is definitely gonna happen, I'm just praying it's not another 25 day grind to get a shiny, I was kinda hoping they'd get some more legendary voices like Kate Mulgrew and maybe Avery Brooks?

    i would like to contribute to ideas but i suspect its too late for such things at this point and cryptic and cbs has something planned all their own. guess we will find out after the summer event.

    With the First Contact giveaway weekend going on now...cryptic just provided to perfect way to do a giveaway of which I'm hoping for, instead of a new item every day they could do a new item every 48hrs from Thursday to Monday, which makes it 3 items per week for 5 weeks.

    I would be happy enough with just Cardassian faction (and Dominion if possible) along with T6 Sovereign release.

    I have already postulated the idea of the introduction of the Cardassian playable faction maybe launched together with a Cardassian recruit event (similar to the delta recruit event but only for rolling Cardassian faction characters.) where you will benefit from account wide rewards as you level up your Cardassian character.
    lumped together with the 50th anniversary and whatever else they might have in store for us like c-store giveaways and maybe a CCE event this would make this year an awesome year to be a sto player.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
