It finishes tommorow so why would it matter now?

I assume you're referring to the invisible wall they added to stop people from ruining the trench run for others?

Breach event ends on the 24th just after maintenance for that day.

yeah... totally implausible that you actually have to weaken a starship that massive before blowing a hole into the side of it... to take a squadron of starships INSIDE to fight/rescue/destroy..... yeah.. no the changes were a good thing.

More implausible is keeping a Citadel or 3 inside that beast with no discernible way out for them

Some Ferengi could make a ton of gpl if they'd sell the Voth aceton assimilators so those hard points don't get mown down by one beam boat on autopilot.
This is my Risian Corvette. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

And re watching TNG i get the (correct) feeling aceton assimilators arent killing machines.
    They are traps, nothing more.
Shure you starve to death because your ship is trapped deep in space.
But there is no chance at all that those things emit any kind of deadly energy.
    They consume energy.

Try shooting one with energy weapons in STO.

Dude it wasnt about the ship. Did you ever play that map, before that event went live again?

yes I did, and I find the current version to be a ton better.

Exactly. Its wrong! There would simply nothing happen, but that the energy drain would be faster.

Again watch Booby Trap (the only canon appearance of Aceton Assimilators) again, when they fired phasers at the assimilators the energy drain and the radiation output both increased.

I can confirm this to be true. One of my favourite episodes!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Well the bottom of the Citadel Hangar bay looks like its made of force fields. You can see through from multiple sides, and they sure as hell ain't using glass there.

It's been breached so many times they don't even bother anymore.

Yes. That would also be a much more plausible point of entry than blowing a gigantic hole in the side of the ship to fly a small fleet through. After all, if we can really do that much damage to the hull, it makes no sense we can't just blast our way through the door that leads straight to the core instead of having to go around that silly tunnel maze.

I did a bit of aftermatch exploring - from what I can tell, the floor of the citadel hangar is supposed to be a forcefield, so turning it off/smashing the emitters would allow the citadel out (of course quite why we didn't breach the ship via that opening I'll never know)

edit - didn't mean to repeat others, forgot to reload this page prior to posting

Just wondering if they will extend the play time by a couple of hours being as the Maintenance is right at the end of the timing for getting the last counter needed for the special ship? My 20 hour count down ends during the maintenance. Or is there another way to get one more of the Voth counters needed? I hope there is.

You will be able to finish the project the next time the event comes around. (And then start the new reward project a day late, but you can't slot the new one until the old one is done.) Unlike event ship projects, these events do not change vouchers and come a couple times a year in rotation. You might have a bit of a wait though, as there will probably be a mirror event and crystalline event first. Not to mention the summer event, during which they won't run one of these two week queue events. Still, if you are patient, it will come back eventaully, it will just probably not be until fall at best. (Though with the 50th anniversary occuring around then, that could also add more time to the wait.)
As Zephram Cochrane once said, "That'll do, pig. That'll do." - April 1st 2015. o:)

i like the new 'look' of the breach, with the old version I often got lost especially at the end escape where I cant ever remember making it out without getting killed.
with this revamp I have always known where I need to go next and even got out at the end most of the time.
overall much more fun then the old version, leave it as it is.

played with 6 characters who all got the main reward and some bonus rewards and enjoyed every minute of the event.

I don't know why some players moan about doing these events and refer to it as too much of a grind, I have known players who have done STF's for hours on end every day for months just to get all of the MACO gear they wanted on all of their characters without a murmur yet ask them to do these events once a day for 2 weeks on the characters they want to get the reward for and even the seasonal ones that you only need to do once a day on only one character for 25 days to get an account unlock and they whine and moan that its too much of a grind and refuse to take part.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

I ran this instance more than 90 times over 6 different characters throughout the course of this event. I don't want to see this event again for a very long time.

I dont believe you! After a few failded tryes you would have noticed that there is a green arrow on the Minnimap that points LEFT. It was simply impossible to dont make that after you got used to the map.

yeah like I've got time to check out the minimap and waste precious seconds when the countdown timer is ticking away to my doom give me the nice big arrows we have now any day thanks.
