I have been collecting some oddball ships lately.

I have some really nice fleet ships, lobi ships, lockbpx ships and event ships but lately I have collected a few of the more odd little ship.

APU cruiser, Malon BC, Tholian Meshweaver, Kazon heavy raider..

I have enjoyed running these ship in borg/tholian alerts and also some normal queues.

Can anyone recommend and other reasonably priced little ships? T5U at least.

    I got a fleetmate who made the Meshweaver into a badass little ship.

    The only other one I can think of, that's not on that list, is the Nihydron Destroyer... which is a nice enough ship at T5-U level; I played it on my Talaxian toon (who collects oddball ships too!) for quite some time.

    I think the Risian Luxury Cruiser, aka the Love Boat, is the most oddball of oddball looking ships.

      Love my little coupe Meshweaver.
      Even used an upgrade token on it.
      It packs a whallop for such a tiny little thing. With 5 tac consoles, its no joke.
      Has a decent Admiralty card also.

      The APU is a servicable crusier, good admiralty card, and a must have for Stargate fans :mrgreen:

      I also snagged the Kazon, and Nihydron destroyers.
      Same deal with these, good Admiralty cards and very servicable for T5's.

      Will have to look into the Malon, don't own that as of yet.

      Just got the mesh weaver, even at basic tier 5 without the upgrade, it's a destructive little ship

        All the more reason for a T6 Risian ship for 2016 Summer event. Risians are great engineers, and the Corvette proves it in terms of maneuverability and impulse speed.

        Kazon raider is cheap at twice the price, especially for Feds who don't have a BoP class with raider flanking and universal BOFF seating. It also turns on a sixpence so makes for a very fun cannon boat.

        I am by no means a collector or any good at this game, but I enjoy running about killing borg, tholians, etc. So far, the APU has been a lot of fun. I like the non traditional structure, and the premise of the ship's design/ers. It is a lot of fun to watch it in battle. And to quote a certain commander, it's a "Tough little ship."

        I love all the oddball ships out there. Currently running a beam boat on a Malon BC. Stand out fly something different.

        This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

        Agreed. My Klingon engineer flew the T5, then T5U Luxury Cruiser as a TAC cruiser for a LONG time, until buying the Qib. At this point the Qib is too good, but I still miss my Luxury Cruiser!

        I want to thank all of you for this thread! I am new here, but just got three characters past level 50. I knew before then that there would be no more free unlocks after 40. So, I poured over the wiki and the exchange to learn about Tier 6 and 5u ships. Since (right now) I can't just buy one with zen/cash, I started a thread about how a f2p player can get a high tier ship, and no one mentioned any of these. Before this thread, I thought I'd have to farm enough dil to convert it to 3000 zen, or get at least 100 million credits to buy something off the exchange. Because of all of you, I am now the proud owner of an APU cruiser for my fed captain, and a malon battle cruiser for my Romulan. I wish my Romulan had something a little better than a garbage scow to use, but hey, it's tier 5u. Besides, as Captain Kirk once said, "A ship is a ship". I still have to farm dil/EC for those upgrade tokens, but those will be easier to get than what I originally needed. So, thanks again.

        Just out of interest how much are the nihydron and kazon ships going for on the exchange atm? (Not able to play sto at this time to check). I bought the meshweaver, its squishy, but the dps seems alot higher than my narcine

        Yeah there's no reason to scoff at T5 ships, they are very servicable for end game.
        Try a meshweaver if you have 3 mil ec laying around @kronin#4685

        All the T5 and T5u "junk" lock box ships went up in value drastically after Admiralty was released.

        I thought about the meshweaver, but I am not good with escorts (yet). Too bad there wasn't a science vessel this cheap. Right now, I have a ship for each major captain, so I'm good for a while. I have to get those two upgrade tokens first. Then I'll think about the meshweaver. When last I checked the following ships had the following prices on the exchange:
        APU Cruiser 6.75 million EC, Tholian Meshweaver 3.2 million EC, Malon battle cruiser 2 million EC, and the Kazon Heavy Raider 10 million EC. Even though I have what I need, I hope the prices on these things don't go up, because the best thing about most of these ships is that they are cheap. (Especially the garbage scow.) 100 million is too much for some, and f2p captains have to get ships somewhere.

        I have the APU too. I'm wasn't very impressed, but I tend not to be on eng ships as the BOFF abilities tend to be a bit dull.
