Old Jupiter NPC model still in the game - alternate skin for Jupiter class carrier?

While playing a KDF fleet alert yesterday, I encountered a Jupiter class carrier (USS Uhlmann) with the old model for that kind of ship.

Is it possible to get that as an alternate skin for Jupiter class carriers? After all, there are few customization options for that vessel as it stands...

    Not gonna happen.
    Model is simply too old and outdated.

    Thats the golf-ball class right?

    I thought it had been taken out of the game... Havn't seen one since Season 3 I think.

    Those make me think of a carrier more than the Jupiter does. I'm not dissin the Jupiter, but as someone who has spent a good portion of his life serving on and working around aircraft carriers, that is my honest opinion.

    I think they should add it. Just because its "old and bad on details". They took time, they can easily bring it up to current specs. Even with the Typhoon they can do this.

    I think it's hideous! I wouldn't deny other people the option though. After all, people fly the scimitar and I think it looks awful.

    Each to their own, but I still don't understand why some would actually use that model over the Jupiter we have presently? When designing ships, it's all about proportions, features and subtle details to draw attention to interesting areas that flow well. With that, it's got nothing like that. It's one of the most, no... the most ghastly design of any ship ever to grace the ranks of Starfleet. I would take the Goldball over that monstrosity any day!

    Id love more options for the jupiter. The orginal model needs a pass over to bring to back up to scratch. Make the nacels thicker. Take a little off the nacel pylons and the hull and then ud have a great design

    IDIC. I think more skin options the better. I find the tier 6 Excelsior, all Galaxy class, all Odyssey class, and the Ferengi ships to be major eye sores. With that said, some folks find spiders, rice burners, crocodiles, pop music, sharks, Ferengi and other odd things adorable.

    I think it's hideous, but to each their own. Along with this relic, there's a Typhon class in "Fluid Dynamics," too.

    Personally, while I'm glad that we have our new, playable Jupiter, I hold out hope that someday we at least get a new option that mimics the old NPC Jupiter's pylon and nacelle arrangement. It was always a classic in my opinion.

    Some people just like ugly things. If you were to look at Fed ships in general as an outsider. You might think they look ugly. Heck Ive been a fan for 25 years and theres moments where I look at the Galaxy or Constitution and think...They really are ugly. But because theyve grown on me they kind of have that beautiful in their own way to them.

    I think the original Jupiter is undoubtedly ugly and could look much better with a decent rework. But it had some aspects that I liked. Some went into the new Jupiter ("Omega"), some didn't.
    I think one of my favorites aspect is the "vertical" feeling of the ship. It's not wide, it's high, unlike most Starfleet vessels.

    Also thanks to @artan42 for getting those pictures. It has been really difficult finding shots that show all the angles of the ship when I last looked for it.

    When I saw the new Jupiter was coming up I guessed the old one would be removed so I loaded it up in the Foundry and took some shots. I also did the same for the Obex and Typhoon. It's nice to have a record. It also allows for a nice long look at a ship without having to dodge players and the UI.​​
