Issue is as follows. I have zero need for this programme and never will have. I don't want several different programmes to open various games, especially when I will never have more than a single game from there....
I have added a short cut to the .exe file for STO which opens up the game just nicely, but my password refuses to stay in the box. Before ARC their was a fast launch option where it kept your pass in there and simply started the game on opening the .exe file.
Anyone know how I can get back to that please ?

As they say, you can't have your cake and eat it too. (Not an Arc user myself - which comes in handy whenever the forum decides to log me out, as I've essentially been trained to remember my password very well. )

Agreed.
Was on pre-arc and since and it never remembered the password. Only the user name.

also in 2012 i think it was, cryptic accounts had to be merged with PWI account system, at the time this caused original name issues for the accounts of a number of people. i can not even remember my original account name, however it was not mirrorchaos.

In any case even if I cannot get it to remember the password, I certainly won't be going back to ARC.
Steam uber alles
One is keeping Half-life 3 from being made due to Valve not needing the money. Thus: Stop using Steam.
Let's not derail the thread with irrelevant speculation, hmm?
Like every other red-blooded gamer, I share your years-long frustration, but let's not go there in this venue, please.

Please enlighten me as to where I mentioned I was going to quit ?
All I want to do is remove an annoying programme for which I have no need for.
As for quitting, I have not mentioned that, although I have to admit that due to the extremely poor state of the game I have not played consistantly for many many months now. But that is due to the endless boring grind of repeating the same things over and over in a groundhog day style and nothing to do with the launcher being unable to hold my password
Forgive me if i misunderstood, however that is an 'I'll quit if the launcher won't remember my password' statement.
Let me make this clear. For best security, never have anything on your computer 'remember password'.
You're making a huge fuss for the fact you can't save 2 seconds typing in the password via the original launcher, never mind the Arc program, which by the way brings up the original launcher when you start the game up.
If you want to, you can move the strekonline.exe to an new directory, it will however have to reinstall the game. Then you can delete ARC. However, there still will be no option to remember your password.
Actually, his statement is quite clear. He establishes the following:
1. He thought Steam or the original launcher stored his password like Arc does.
2. He launched his game from Steam at one point.
3. Even if he can't convince the original launcher to remember his password, he won't continue using Arc, but he will NOT stop playing the game. (At any rate, he won't stop playing the game because of this particular issue - as elaborated by his next post, he's not too satisfied by the state of the game, however this is completely separate from his not wanting to use Arc anymore.)
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
And it's more than saving 2 seconds. In an ideal world you should be able to simply click on the game to launch, then go make a coffee or something and when you come back it's loaded. As with most other games

I have been using it since launch, yet i launch my game through steam. I have to input my password each time and guess what, its not the biggest issue in my life, hard as that may be to believe on these forums.
Also note, no Korean assassins have dropped into my room. No funds have gone missing from my account. Nothing has been tampered with on my computer. If they want to watch me wanking to pornhub, they can fill their boots.
I dont get why people have such an issue with ARC even now. Some people need to get over themselves and grow up.
you should look at your own avatar and realise where you just placed yourself when you wrote this.

No, the program doesn't see to be there for much other as an ad for other games.
If I want to play a game, that is ALL i should have. I should not need a separate programme in order for me to play it.
We have Steam, Origin, Uplay, ARC, Rockstar etc.... Why do we need all these things to just play a game ? It was ok I guess in the beginning where we just had steam and could have ALL games in Steam, but then everyone else started jumping on the bandwagon. It's beyond silly now. I don't want my PC clogged up with garbage that I don't want. I already Boycott Ubisoft games altogether alongside EA's Origin. Although that has mostly to do with their poor games and treatment of their customer base.
