The known bugs with the Terran costume packs are not game-killer level, such as something that would make STO crash, or render it hard to play.
We get that. A vanity/appearance bug is not going to be high priority...that being said, there's been enough time elapsed that this should have been corrected.
The problem is, the longer Cryptic takes to fix stuff like this, the more suspicious the community will get of their intent to fix it.
I think it's very fair at this point to insist that Cryptic unlock these packs account-wide, after all the time and trouble it's cost paying customers.

^^ This. Definitely.
You guys do understand that Character and Clipping issues are one of the Most difficult things to deal with in an MMO. Because there are SO MANY possible Combinations that can be created, and fixing it for one species can break it for another and so forth.
Also. A Lot of Fixes for these have already been submitted by the Character Team, they just have to make their way down the pipeline, through various departments before release.
They will make it to the server at some point. Whining doesn't speed up the process, if anything it slows it down.
Err..what lag and performance issues. The game runs fine over the pond with no lag or performance issues and I am not kidding![/quote]
takes multiple attempts to log in, esd lagged as hell especially in space outside of esd, lag and delay in red alerts and pve. Not just me as fleet members have same issues and I can play many other online games without issue. Was running perfectly before the anniversary event.
I'm having the same issue as fadmbambam. I get past the launcher and am stuck at the black screen with the word "CRYPTIC" in the middle, and then absolutely nothing, nada, zip. I, too, have done a force verify and everything I can think of. I also attempted to load Tribble, and got the same result.
If the game is not getting through the first Loading process, then that's something in your software, not your connection to Cryptic. (your game software probably got corrupted some how)
If your able to connect to the Server and DL any update with the Launcher, then it's not your connection to the Server that is the problem.
A suggestion would be to delete the game and reload.
It's a PITA but it would probably solve your problem.
Another old suggestion is to delete just your "localdata' file in the Cryptic Main File.
This used to be a good problem solver for things on your side of the server, not sure if it still works.
(it won't take as long as completely reloading the game and it has often worked for me in the past.)

If one deletes this, what is the outcome? Prevent from crashing to desktop? or?
It depends on what the actual problem is, I guess.
If the CTD's are caused by the physical connection between you and the servers, this will probably do nothing.
But if something is messed up within the connection software on your computer, this could potentially alleviate a lot of aggravation.
It can't hurt to try.
All that happens is that new a new "localdata" file is created when you reconnect to the servers.
I don't know all the nitty-gritty details, but my understanding of this file is that it essentially keeps track of how your version of the game and the Cryptic Servers communicate with each other.
If either is out of sync, it results in things like CTD's.

If you're getting frequent crashes-to-desktop with the debugger throwing #48890933 - try clearing out your "in-progress" mission list. I got that crash frequently (~1 hour) on one toon, no issues on another. Cleaned out an old "Kill Tholians zone-wide" pink mission from Nukura, no problems since.
It's probably a memory leak in the pathing-to-zone code. It's trying to find a path to where that mission is, and can't, and doesn't clean up the attempt to find it propely. Memory leak seems to be worse if you have more active missions.
Error #48890933 seems to be the game's way of saying "Memory allocation fault - out of memory". For a 32 bit application, the maximum of addressable space is 4GB minus the amount of video RAM. Typically that means once the process hits 3 to 3.5 GB of memory used, it can't expand it's working set any further and just crashes. It also means that it's probably wise to limit the game to 1GB of video memory on high-end cards that have more (to prevent the video RAM from competing with memory available to the process space). I doubt STO would benefit from having access to more then 1GB of video memory anyway.
... forget your fears. And want no more...

With respect, what's going on here?
