Anniversary Giveaway, C-store items?

We’re kicking off the celebrations early for Star Trek Online’s 6-year Anniversary! It’s been a wonderful year and we’re happy to celebrate alongside you. Every day from W 1/26 at 10am PST till Monday 2/1 at 10am PST we’ll be giving away new C-Store items for Captains to enjoy. Every 24 hours, we’ll be giving out a different item (or even multiple), so be sure to grab these up!
I love me some free items, but this does cay C-Store items. So far we've gotten spec points, Which is fine. Fleet Dil. also fine. And universal tech upgrades.. also fine.
But not one of these items is a normal C-Store item. And it clearly says "C-Store Items", usually we'll get a lower tier ship, or outfits, or bridge pack, or t5 ship upgrade, or services like inventory slots. I know it's free so i shouldn't complain, but it's like a restaurant saying "come to our restaurant and get a free meal" and then handing you a couple cookies, and stuff that isn't even on the menu.

If you can't buy the items with zen, then they aren't C-store items.

You claim them from the C-Store, that makes them C-Store items.

Naw, I'm not willing to accept that. That's like saying a cheese burger from a Chinese food restaurant is Chinese food, because it came from a Chinese food restaurant.

A Japanese fast-food place I used to live near had a great teriyaki burger.

I understand where you are coming from, but I guess those of us who were around for the giveaways two or three years ago are just spoiled.

Back then it was, as far as I remember, technically impossible to grant one-time consumables and such from the c-store, they didn't figure out yet how to do that. Instead, we got T1-T5 ships, bridge packs, costumes etc., increasing in value every day of the week. Those were glorious times and are still sung about today.

Nowadays the majority of giveaways do not incorporate actual zen-items any more. Instead you get materials for the various in-game minigames/timegated systems, sometimes invnetory slots, spec points etc. - but if past giveaways are an indication there's still the chance for a star ship at the last day of the giveaway, most likely a T4 or T5 ship for each faction, so make sure you have a character on each on level 10 to profit from it.

I can understand your point of view but with the limited amount of items in the store overall especially low value items and the amount of giveaways cryptic have done plus the number of items given away in each event they would soon run out of things to give away if all the items they give were only from the permanent c-store inventory.
besides which I think its kinda cool to get things that you would not normally be able to buy for any price like spec points and dilithium vouchers.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Multi-Purchase items like inventory slots. or better yet, outfit slots. Would be a good option. Bank space. Can't go wrong with that stuff. I have a promo T5-u Upgrade still, but these are very solid options. Really i'd like outfit slots though, but i'm a dress-up player. ^_^

the only thing with things like bank slots, inventory slots and yes even outfit slots there is a limited number of these a player can hold on each character so any player who has maxed out their allowance on any of these things could be excluded from claiming such items where as giving things like fleet dilithium vouchers, and Universal Tech Upgrades is a much safer choice.

Now now, no need to argue over nomenclature.
