What is coming for the 5TH/6TH Ann of STO.

Hi Guys and Gals:

I was just wondering what STO has planned for their 6TH ann. of STO coming in Feb. and What do they have planned for this coming Sept. Which is the 50 TH ann of Star Trek The Orginal Series ??

Does anybody have a guess what it could be ??

They also field test it in Tribble to work out alot of the kniks and to get players reaction to the upcoming content.

    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Ship poll =/= entire event.

    I'm wondering if they're going to keep the game's anniversary and the show anniversary as separate events or roll them all together.

    Might as well be since the rest is usually copy and paste

    I suspect the sto anniversary will be a repeat of last year, as for the star trek anniversary that's anybody's guess, its basically unprecedented in sto to have such an event.

    I cant see them combining the anniversaries they are just too far apart.

    If you are asking the devs: they aren't going to tell you before their official announcement.

    So, you aren't going to get any real answers in this thread.

    I would imagine that the game anniversary will feature a ship that no one expected (who could have predicted the Samsar). Perhaps something spawning out of the Ico Wars, but probably not Iconian since we have the current box ships already.

    I do think that the 50th anniversary could be done in one of three ways:
    1. It could be a silly giveaway of a few undersold zen ships/costumes.
    2. We've pretty much been promised that we won't have an end game Constitution Class, but I could see an Epic T6 Constitution class admiralty ship, a holo-kirk/spock doff/boff. Since the Advanced Heavy Cruiser is already an Excelsior deviant, I don't see them having many classic fed ships to pull from that would make sense to be based on the original series.
    3. It could indeed be a ship, and just something that has nothing to do with the original series aside from perhaps an homage to the original.

    We will probably get a teaser about it with in the next 2weeks. Winter Event ends on the 15th so it should be coming soon. Personally I am hopping for ship replay for the newer players to pick up some old ships. Also a Breen BOFF worked in there would be nice.

    Ship, episode, usual fair most likely. As someone mentioned briefly above though a featured episode re-run would be a nice and easy freebie to throw on top of everything (with or without bonus lobi).

    First C-store item is the T7 "Rainbow Dash" class escort - built in such a way that it cannot mount 2 of the same type of weapon for $50...
    And the effects for the T7 "Twilight Sparkle" class Sci vessel all shoot from a "point" (horn) at the front of the ship...

    you forgot to mention the guy who always complains he is away when ever they have an event, like he has obviously never heard of mobile computers and internet and cryptic should always consult him first before scheduling an event to make sure it is convenient for him.

    Lots and lots of Omega mini games. I cannot wait!! We should know more sometime after the 15th. The calendar says it starts on April 2nd. Again I cannot wait. I did the first half of the event time playing the game the hard way. Not this time. And I will add (its funny to me and others who know me) I really like the mini game.

    How about the Mirror Universe as a Playable group or groups. You could play the good members of the Terran Federation or as the bad guys of the Terran Empire

    One of their stories taking place on Utopia Planitia ship yards had what I consider a hint, though I could be wrong. In it was mentioned that Starfleet had something special in mind for the Odyssey class.

    Could be nothing, and don't get hopes up. I just think it means we may see a refit or retrofit or something for the Odyssey and faction flag ship classes. Though it could still be anything at this point.
