Kindhearted people stealing flags who aren't even in the race!!

I would very much appreciate it if you can please deal with this rather despicable way of stealing someone else's prize. ON Christmas!!
What's wrong these wonderful people?
Its happened to me 5x this event. I come around the corner only to see someone stealing my 1st prize, then beaming out.
Next year please can you introduce some kind of mechanism to prevent this:
1.) Simple query in the DB for the race logs the people that are in the race AS THE ONLY ELIGIBLE people to pick-up the flags.
2.) Once the race starts The race finish is OUT OF LIMITS to ANYONE ELSE.
For the love of Q, please save Winter Wonderland fun!!!

Mind clarifying? I may be wrong but it sounds like an admission?
Perhaps but I have been way in the lead each time, with no-one overtaking me. I definitely see the person running into the finish from the side stealing the flag then immediately beaming out.
That just would not be possible if they were in the race, and I would notice someone overtaking me.
I agree it is a exploit and a violation which Cryptic should address.

NO Actually they are NOT. I keep a eye continually on the mini-map and I am well in the lead around the last corner, when most folks have only just reached the corner after the jump-across-the-ledge.
No, I was saying that HIS welcome is worn out. Thus, "Your" is correct. Basically, combining the error you pointed out with the fact that he's been a rude, condescending @#$ in most of his posts, lately.
Let me clarify my earlier post. As this is my third winter event, I am completely aware of the tricks and hints to win the race. I have watched the number of videos, spoke to friends and fleetmates to incorporate their tricks to win the race. Sometimes I take first place, other times I do not.
Every year someone comes on the forums and screams expliot. No one takes a look at their own game play when they don't win, or they get beat by another player it is always the games fault, people are using an exploit, etc.
As it has been proven, no can change minds on these forums, and after the caps lock hate filled pms I got after I won the race the other night. It is easier to be the source of people's paranoia and sit back and laugh then try to change minds.

Oh before I forget, thank you for all of those who were nice enough to correct my statement, it is nice to see such helpful prople on the forums, maybe humanity isn't doomed.
OP, if you feel there's some exploit going on, post it in the bug section or better yet, send an ingame ticket, ideally with steps how it's done<--- this one better not on the public forum, hence why ticket is better. No need to call people names here. Keep it nice.
However, moreoften than not, in this race is usually the technique which causes you to "lose". Just listen on the tips, rather than coming to rage on the forums, mmmmk?
As so far, the initial post & reactions of some hotheads reminded me of this & it's baddie bad, we don't want to do this here.

Yes you are right.
The best thing I can make of it, just speculating, that someone enters the race, goes to the finish area, logs out when the race is still on, logs in when another race is going and can pick up the flag right away.
That's a lot of trouble and senseless toon parking just for a few Epohh tags.
I've done this, and come in second. The guy in first was just as far ahead of me as I was the 3rd place person.

This way a person could have toon to the finish line. Log off
Then log into another to wait for the timer. Pick up the race.
When the race starts they Log off & Log-into the other toon theoretically in the race because they never "left the track"

Beware folks. From now on I am going to Demorecord all my races. Demorecord + Star Trek Online Demo Launcher registers ever single interaction with the instance. Whoha-ha-ha! Proving my sanity has now become more important than the marks!!
Not as much trouble if you're terrible at the race, or you just want to get a rise out of people. Judging by the fact that we have this topic, it's mission accomplished on the second one.
Edit: The exploit has happened before, for sure was happening two years ago, and I seem to recall a developer even posting that they were aware of it then and were watching people, so they shouldn't do it. Might be difficult to find now.
Thrue, but is seems more and more that this is becoming the game that players don't want to play, at least not how the devs want you to do. Any trick, cheat, short cut will do, because the content is so horrible and I am so smart that I can bypass it.
Sounds like way too much work for way too little reward.

In the years I have been doing the event never seen that happened since you HAVE to be on the race to grab a flag...if there is an exploit then it needs to be shut down. Only thing I'm aware as exploit is using the 8472 rep armor that gives you an extra boost in running.
Yeah. I remember a time when people would beam onto ESD or Qo'nos and lay siege to the poorly transporter officers and the like LOL.
