Torpedo boat, without torpedo launchers??!!

  How so? You launch 1-6 torps and they go on cooldown...torps are still weak and these torps I doubt will get buffed by boff abilities...I don't see how launching a few torps every minute will suddenly make up for the loss of a 8th beam.

  Hear what your saying mate, the console has no cool down, but adds a torpedo up to a stack of 6.
  
  With all the new shield bypass traits and abilities I think it just might be a tough little ship!!

  If it works like the Destabilized Plasma Torp (and the description seems to imply it), it won't need a host torpedo loaded. And at a standard six-torp spread too, that's nuts... I think the next question is whether or not torp abilities affect them. Probably not, if the DPT is any indicator.
  
  Also, the T'varo line will now have access to two console-based torp weapons...
