Torpedo boat, without torpedo launchers??!!

So the new T6 defiant class escort have a console that lets you fire up to 6 torpedoes simultaneously at full stack.

Will you need a torpedo launcher equipped to utilise this new feature??

If not these escorts might just become the newest DPS kings on the street...imagine that!

How so? You launch 1-6 torps and they go on cooldown...torps are still weak and these torps I doubt will get buffed by boff abilities...I don't see how launching a few torps every minute will suddenly make up for the loss of a 8th beam.

Hear what your saying mate, the console has no cool down, but adds a torpedo up to a stack of 6.

With all the new shield bypass traits and abilities I think it just might be a tough little ship!!

You have somewhat misread and subsequently misunderstood what the new console does.

If it works like the Destabilized Plasma Torp (and the description seems to imply it), it won't need a host torpedo loaded. And at a standard six-torp spread too, that's nuts... I think the next question is whether or not torp abilities affect them. Probably not, if the DPT is any indicator.

Also, the T'varo line will now have access to two console-based torp weapons...
