Hey,
I think it would be nice if we explore again new space to have
the possibility inside STO to build up our own colony world.
Build up buildings, strategy in development, and get Credits, Dilithium, Latinum or trading goods
based on your development startegy of your colony.
What do you think about it?

Mind you, it would just be for busy work, as how many of us actually beam to the bridge to issue doff jobs. (Which is why certain windows close while doing some doff missions) .
Unless of course, they could come up with some further reward/sink system tied into such a thing. Maybe tie it into the drydock, or have the chance to open more bank slots, or the like. Yeah, I know, a further grind, but It doesn't hurt to look towards the future.
All that verbosity aside, I kind of like @aerodrive1 's idea also. a colony world.
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
You should be able to select buildings in the colony. Construct it. Go through the streets and see them.
Based on your selectable builings the colony can work in the Background for you. creating goods, dilithium, credits, Latinum.
But it should not "feel" like an other fleet housing, it should be a minigame with an own map to Visite.
You should be able to manage your small world. Build up or destroy buildings, plants, parks, ....
It should be on a fix place in the galaxy. You can trevell there and see it.
It shoul look different from Player to Player just based on the personal build up.
Thumbs down if it's more like Star Trek: Sim City edition. The game is already enough of a bloated, crash-heavy resource hog.

what I am saying is don't expect to have too much control over the way the colony appears, don't expect it to look any different to the way other fleets colonies will appear beyond a few minor tweaks from the odd special projects that might be run or not.
we would have very little choice on the overall way the colony would appears and in any case how often would we get a chance to view another colony to make comparisons in any case.
at the end of the day fleet holdings such as these are more about getting us to plough our hard earned resources away then it is about building something that is unique to each fleet.
having said that it would be cool to have such a holding providing players don't get disgruntled by the limited amount of control we have over the development and running of the colony, I suspect many players would expect it to be more akin to sim city then it is to one of our existing holdings.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
BTW. I have my own starbase. I have to do all by myself, but it is great. As a matter of fact, I have two, a KDF and a Fed, of course. I am never bored with the game, because I can always build on my starbase. It goes slower than a snail, but I am fine with that.
Being able to have Boffs stationed there and depending on what boffs and skills they have can affect things, etc.
Wpulp be kinda fun.

What Cryptic should do is to expand admiralty into a proper RTS game. Taking command of your fleet would be as canon as one can get.
