Unable to complete mission Cold Case

In the section of the mission "Preserved for Posterity", one of the objectives is to destroy some asteroid rubble.
I'm able to see the rubble marked by reticles, but unaIbe to target, I've tried directly clicking the items, targeting by tab and firing, It seems I can't interact/destroy said rubble.
Has anyone encountered the same problem/devised a solution?

    Ok, I've managed to find a work around - the only way I could render the rubble targetable was to vent/activate theta radiation console on it. I'm suspecting any dumb-fire weapon/ability would do the same.
    Still bugged if you can't trigger the rubble being able to be targeted though!
