Old Starships Dilithium Cost...

daveynydaveyny Member Posts: 8,227 Arc User
Hey Cryptic, what happened to the Weeklong Special Sale on the Dilithium Cost of ships You said was going to happen with the launch of Season 11?
I see that the original costs have been dropped but that's it.
Did somebody forget to turn on the sale?

"In addition to the permanent price reductions listed above, we will also be running a special Discount Event, allowing players to purchase additional starships at a discounted rate, for use in the brand new Admiralty System.

For one week following the release of Season 11, all of the above prices will be further reduced by 50%!

Lieutenant: 2,500
Lt. Commander: 5,000
Commander: 10,000
Captain: 20,000
Rear Admiral - Lower Half: 40,000

This special Dilithium Ship Discount Event will begin after maintenance concludes on October 27th, 2015 and run until maintenance on November 3rd, 2015."

They, as a rule, don't usually renege on Their actual posted sales, because. B)

...I'd swear I saw those sale prices yesterday afternoon when I was perusing the ship market. Hmm. Now I have to go back and check.

They need to do the sale once they get the Drydock done. No one's gonna really buy pointless low level ships if they have to ditch them to make room for another one. I might buy a few old ships, but I'm gonna want them in drydock. I'm not going to spend X dilithium JUST to have a Shipdoff.

The discount is in effect right now. I just bought several T1-4 ships at the ESD ship yard and the discount was applied.
    Insert witty signature line here.

Sale seems to be on for me. With Fleet Mine discount I'm seeing:
    T1 - 1,751
    T2 - 3,501
    T3 - 7,001
    T4 - 14,001
    T5 - 28,001

EDIT: On an alt that isn't in a fleet:
    T1 - 2,500
    T2 - 5,000
    T3 - 10,000
    T4 - 20,000
    T5 - 40,000

    As advertised.

It may depend on where you buy them. I saw a message to that effect on Reddit while looking for developer comments yesterday.

And what are you gonna do with your drydock full of useless low-tier ships then?

I'm gonna reserve the drydock for lockbox, lobi, etc ships that are actually worth something. Useless leveling ships, if I re-buy them at all, will go straight back to the junkpile after I got the cards.

It appears to me that KDF ships are not seeing the [starbase, dilithium mine?] discount. Most clearly, I have a Rom/KDF toon, that sees prices like 1,751 dil for the Rom ships, but 2500 dil for the equivalent KDF ship. Similarly up the line to the T5s. And everywhere else, Fed and Rom ships see the discount, while no KDF ships do. (… I've looked at DS9, ESD, and the First City shipyard.)
