Suggestion: Replace "prime Starfleet" NPCs ships entirely with refitted models

With the theme of rebuilding and regeneration going on in S11, how about we replace virtually all of the "prime Starfleet" NPC-ships with Type-6 material "refits" (Exeter, Gladius, Bellerophon, Venture, Regent or newer ships like Vesta and Avenger and the like). Reflecting the immense losses and destruction the war brought, Starfleet is now fielding new ships and refits. This would modernize the factions overall visual feel. Unique ships appearing in story missions could still field canon-original skins (the refurbished versions) buit the NPC "mobs" should maybe be refits.

At the same time I think it'd be a great opportunity to remove the launch-models from "prime" Starfleet completely and offer the Star Cruisers, Stargazer Cruisers, Deep space Science Vessels etc. a place in the Mirror Universe fleet, having mirror encounters be a glimpse in the past of STO. Of course, playable starships would not be affected by this at all, just the unnamed NPCs which spawn as enemies or mission reinforcements or operational fleet assets would look more modern.

I'd recommend something similiar for Klingons and Romulans as well, but those groups don't even have type-3 refits or the Romulan equivalent for all ships yet...

Would be cool, so +1. :)

And now to put some bait for cryptic onto it.
Look at it from this way: it would basically be nearly costless in-game advertising for those zen ships. $ka-ching$ ;)

    Yes, that's another incentive pig-2.gif

But seriously, with the new uniforms and the rebuilding theme it just would make sense. Keeping some iconic canonical ships is fine and also required. It's just a shame that the refit models, which look really good, almost don't appear at all aside from player purchased ships.

I'm pretty sure the USS Kirk is an Exeter class already.

I'd love to see this, even if only because the new models look so pretty. The Command Battlecruisers have already replaced the Typhoons, but I'd love to see more.

Fully supported, as long as we get a white hulled Typhoon. Though it would be a slight problem with the Star Cruisers, and most of the Science vessels as they have no 2410 refits.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

A kitbashed Command Cruiser is probably as close as you'll get.

At least the model is better than the old Typhoon when compared to other player ships.

A type-6 Star Cruiser would certainly look interesting, my original intend is to get rid of those, though pig-2.gif NPC prime Starfleet should be made up of canon refits and original type-6 ships while all the others, aside from unique named ships, should go to the mirrorverse. A type-6 Star Cruiser for players though, no problem with that, of course. As I said, no ships should be taken away from players, I just would like the differentiation between prime and mirror Starfleet.
