Where would you like to play?

Currently set in 2409 (at least, this is where we all start at), and I know it's not happening, but if this game (or a new one) was going to be set in a different place and time, where would you like that to be? Your options (and basic explanations) are as follows:

Option #1: 2150 - 2155 - This would be the time of Archer and the NX-01; potential factions could be Starfleet, the Andorian Imperial Guard and the Vulcan High Command. Potential antagonists (if you're not playing as Andorian or Vulcan) would be the Xindi or Klingons (the latter could serve as an antagonist for all three).

Option #2: 2156 - 2160 - This would be the Earth - Romulan War, obvious factions at this point would be the Federation (likely compromised solely of Human, Andorian, Vulcan and Tellarite) up against the might of the Romulan Star Empire (which, for creativity sake, could be comprised of Romulans and Reman).

Option #3: 2265 - 2270 - TOS - The setting here pretty much speaks for itself, though I'm unsure as to the core factions, cause there's not really a main antagonist here; not even the Klingons.

Option #4: 2345 - 2360 - Border Wars (Federation-Cardassian War) - Setting the hostilities between the two powers that no doubt aided toward setting up the Dominion War. Two factions, one Federation, the other Cardassian.

Option #5: 2370 - 2375 - The Dominion War - Again, a simple enough story, and you've got your two main factions set in stone.

Option #6: 2700's - Battle of Procyon V and the Enterprise-J - You'd have one massive faction here, pretty much containing most of the Alpha & Beta Quadrant (cause we know that even the Xindi and Klingons have joined the Federation by this point). The antagonist; sphere builders and a story that very much included this Temporal Cold War.

Option #7: Something else; a different story, be that something that wasn't covered very well in lore (like the Federation-Tzenkethi War) or something original and of your choosing, set either in the future, or sometime between 2379 & 2700. If this option, by all means, please share your idea(s).

There are a few minor discrepancies with all suggestions, though I'm using creative license. If you need too, just imagine a parallel (yet not mirror) universe. I suppose it would be possible to mix and match a little (ie; 2345 through till 2375?) if so desired.

    Option #7 Let Q Decide!
I would like to vote for option: no major conflict, but everybody getting on everybody's nerves. TNG period. Feds, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, and Ferengi, because why not?

The Feds would explore, and do science, and preach.
The Klingons would assassinate their Chancellors, and conquer everything in sigh. And fight among the Houses.
The Romulans would assassinate everybody, stabbing them in the back, and do dangerous science.
The Ferengi would try to cheat everybody, and become reacher and reacher.

    Yup... this is ST fact.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Dominion War. Anything to be close to DS9.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Kirk era would require that you be able to sleep with every alien you meet in a story episode, and possibly in STFs too. CBS would never agree to that :)

Oh, I dunno... that would certainly regenerate interest in CBS' half of the franchise. :D

Option #5 Federation - Dominion War
I voted for Dominion war period since it is the most interesting one to me and I am a big DS9 fan.
However, I would also like to see game set during the time of Enterprise NX-01 and war with Romulans as well.

And I must admit that I was tempted to vote for option 7 since I have a good storyline in mind which would be set some time after events of Nemesis. It would include all of the major factions plus a 3 new factions coming from another galaxy. Main plot would involve war on a galactic scale in which powerful new alliances would be created and massive space battles would take place in entire Milky Way. There would be also a lot of planetary assaults too. That story would also bring new starships classes, highly advanced new powerful weapons, at least 3 new races (the ones from the other galaxy (Iconians are not one of them)) and tons of other stuff. All in all I'm currently writing a book about it and I think it would be a good setting for a game and/or TV show/movies too.

Option 6. I actually would like to see more Xindi related stuff integrated into everything else. I think they're the only thing I liked about Enterprise.

Anything but the Temporal Cold War? That Enterprise is such a ugly whale with tiny nacelles it makes the Jupiter look good. Not sure about TOS...nothing against it but I just don't like those old ships much...would we get modernized looking TOS ships from like Axanar?

I'm fine with where we are. A bit in the future of the series/movies but still close enough to be recognizable. (But I'd have gotten rid of the whole Romulus destruction cause even though it was a Prime universe event, it was only referenced in JJTrek movie (aka non-Prime universe) and I'd not consider that to be canon.)
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

I would really only like to play in the 25th century forward. I'm perfectly happy with the setting of STO.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

Option #5 Federation - Dominion War
I voted Dominion War; because, DS9 is my favorite Trek, but I'd also be down for an MMO version of Bryan Singer's Star Trek: Federation. That concept has fascinated me since I learned about it.

Really, the lost era right between options 3 and 4. Federation in full peacetime prosperity bloom while starting to forget its need for organized military defense, Klingons recovering from the near loss of their homeworld and seeking conquests away from the Federation border. Romulans being sneaky and mostly hiding their power from everyone. Different playstyles and gameplay focus for each.

Not to mention the classiest Starfleet and Klingon designs still forming the workforce in each fleet.

TOS. And not the movies, but the series, I'd love a game like that. Maybe with a TMP-era transition at a very advanced stage, and the Ambassador being the non-plus-ultra. But a living online universe in the TOS setting would make me very happy pig-1.gif

Yes! I'm totally on the same page here. I especially love the "TMP-era transition part"! I'm just a hopeless romantic when it comes to the Original Series, especially with Star Trek's gold 50th on the horizon.
