I’ve been looking forward to the T6 version of this ship for a long time. The Promethius was my first CStore ship.
The artwork for the new ship is awesome.
The Boff layout does make me sad however. I was really hoping for a universal slot for my main(Engineer). Guess I’ll just add it to my collection of gimmick ships.
I think the dev’s are doing a great job with all the new content in the game. I love star trek online and in my opinion it’s getting better every patch.
With that said. I was really looking forward to this ship. =(
You will most likely be disappointed in the T6 Defiant and Galaxy-X. For instance, neither will get a tac console slot, since their Fleet variants get the additional tac slot.
well...the T5U Prometheus having only 4 Tac Consoles..i gues i can understand and accept that the T6 also has the same, and the fifth Console on the Fleet Version....that one Point i can understand...somehow BUT all the other "Points" are still "Pointless", regarding the T6 Defiant and T6 Galaxy X, they should at least have the same Console Layout...even so i still think that a Defiant, the one Ship to be called a BATTLESHIP should have the highest Tac Focus of all Ships....but anyway, but at least the Rest should be Fixed.
If they would give the T6 Defiant similat Stats as the Phantom Escort, i would be allready happy....my own little wish would be a 5 / 2 Weapon Layout and Integrated Cloak....but for that i dont keep my Hopes to high....the Galaxy X....this Ship should get a similar Treatment that the Galaxy Retrofit got with the Andromedso less Focus on ENG and some more Focus on Tac (more than the Andromeda since THIS is a Dreadnought) LtComTac at LEAST, and 3 Tac Consoles on C-Store and a Fifth Tac Console on the Fleet one like with the T5, a hopefully BETTER integrated Spinal Lance than that BLIND Lance on the T5 that misses everything no matter how big or small how close or far away every second shot.....and like with the Defiant T6, a Build in Cloak here would also be Nice, but thats my Personal wish.
Should they keep the same Boff Layouts on the T6 Gal X and Defiant that their T5 Versions had, than i will Scratch those Ships from my to Buy List with a Tear in my Eyes, and in Frustration Close my Wallet forever.
"After achieving level 5 in the Advanced Escort [T6] starship mastery, you will unlock the Numerical Superiority starship trait. While slotted, you gain a small damage bonus that increases as more allies target your targeted foe."
Yeah, Right. +10% scaling up to +50% is hardly a small damage bonus. Not even the best Epic Quality Mk XIV gear gives a bonus that high.
A better number would +2% scaling to +10% or +5% scaling to +25% would be better. As it stands, I think Numerical Superiority is a little too good. Crystalline Cataclysm is a good example. Anyone with Numerical Superiority slotted would get a pretty much guaranteed +50% damage increase.
I'm seeing this trait as the next most abusive thing you can do, next to abusing crits to do over 10k damage (not joking either, I have seen this happen) per shot with an AntiProton beam array.
Oh, and did I mention it's a Federation only trait as well? One of the most abusive traits even released, and it's only Feds that can use it.
Oh, and it has a Typo in it's description as well "to sell: +10 to 50% all damage based on number of allies targeting your target".
All I can hope is those insane values are a typo as well.
If you can't solve it logically, solve it like a moron.
51 + 1 Foundry Character Slots is NOT enough. Some of us love our characters. If I want to buy more character slots, why can't I? I couldn't experience the entire Delta Recruitment event without deleting a character.
The Iconians themselves can't time travel because their memories revert, but there is nothing to say an Iconian couldn't write everything she needed to do on a PADD, pin it to herself, travel back, read the PADD, do the tasks and return. Or just get one of her Non-Herald underlings to go back in time for her.
Oh yeah, I do Foundry missions for both KDFs and Feds. Just search KSTF (Short for Kinas Special Task Force, where Kinas is the name of the Admiral you will be serving under). The earlier ones are less story based and more combat based, while the later ones have a much heavier story element, but keep the large battles.
Upon reflecting about the ship's mastery there is something... wrong with it.
You will be like the "pointer" while everyone else fires upon your designated target to take advantage of the bonus... BUT what happens when there are at least 4 Hestia escorts in a STF? The bonus will be off the charts.
I sense a disturbance in the force... In the force of the DPS values it brings to the game.
NOW I GET IT... THE MORE PEOPLE BUYS AND PLAYS THE HESTIA WITH MORE PEOPLE WILL BUY THE HESTIA RESULTING IN MORE DPS TO BE DONE (via the unchecked bonuses)!
Now we will see a HORDE of HESTIAs in STF bringing their wild numbers on par with the pilot escorts or beyond. And if you don't bring a Hestia you are kicked.

Very clever Cryptic, very clever...
It could just be that the maximum stack is always capped at 5 (50 %)?
And what category is the damage bonus? 50 % doesn't always mean 50 % more damage than you had before, but 50 % more of the base damage thjat you would have before all the other modifies like weapon mark or attack pattern buffs or whatever.

It is funny - firstly almost everyone wrote: bad boffs, terrible ship setup etc. (ok, I can agree with it). Now when you read that trait gives 10% to 50% to all damage (works like additional 1 - 1,5 tac console) you almost say: it is OP, nerf it. I don't want to justify PWE but it is way - bad in one way, good in other. As Xinaerk wrote: it is clever.

Even if this trait is worth having (and I doubt it for a number of reasons)- all it means is that people interested in massive group DPS will buy the ship, get the trait, and dump it for a ship worth flying.
Wanted to update the topic and say that I ended up paying for the T5 MVAM and got the T6 Hestia after considerable deliberations.
There's a few reasons behind this. The Romulan pilot ships, while a blast to fly, are as visually unappealing as they appear in the photos, and that's even after trying to combine the 3-pack looks and sorting through the skins. Despite more powerful ships, I tend to return to flying those that are underwhelming by design. Examples: Dauntless, Ops Odyssey, Hegh'ta (before buying the B'Rel). With proper gear they are capable, even on alts with free mission gear, though testing this is an ongoing project and part of the fun I'm able to find without blasting more hard-earned dilithium and EC to upgrades without an omega event grind and weekend discount. The Prometheus was one of my most favorite ship concepts and designs, right next to the Dauntless, and the Hestia truly builds on its looks in the same way the Arbiter did on the Avenger. In short: looks does matter, sometimes enough to put up with giving up other Rom ships for one very expensive ship.
Seeing old videos of the Prometheus in flight revealed that the separated sections do actually follow the ship even though they fall behind some. This is unlike the Odyssey saucer that is completely hopeless in the sense of wandering off outside of battle zones. I parsed an ISA and found the separated sections each adding sub-1K DPS, mind you flying the ship for the very first time without unlocking any tiers, and being real fragile due to not making use of the engineering abilities for defensive traits especially against borg shield drains and the invisitorps that seem to hit everything despite speed tanking and defense values.
Overall did 14K DPS in a team of sub-10K using all upgraded gear on my sci main while also keeping the pug optional alive and testing various things like the pet separation, not that a single match means much.
The ship is still fun to fly thanks to the separation ability that should have been built-in in the first place for a ship made for it and even carrying the name MVA, and is surprisingly maneuverable with just a fleet +turn neutronium at minimum engine power, though I can't say it was like my first impression with the first escort ever, the phantom, that's still like a bat out of hell for some reason, unlike the Faeht which may be due to low subsystem engine power out of combat and a late bug fix that might have not given the proper engine power.
Each section has its own cool down, and they aren't punishingly long as on the Chevron separation. The stats of the ship change based on which section you decide to fly, and you actually get to fly that section of the ship and not just the saucer. I was able to use the splash shield heals within 3 km trait and see the 2 ship sections also get healed, but no UI to indicate their health or anything.
There is a way to make the Hesta nacelles vertical spacing slightly more so they look more like the Prometheus and less like a Command ship port-over without otherwise impacting the Hestas own looks and without having to use the old skin nacelles. I've even seen one variant made to resemble the Dauntless.
All in all, there's much more testing to be done, and gear to be had, and testing to be done. I don't change my stance that the module was a cash grab, and that the ship could have been so much better, more effective, and more fun had the listed problems in this topic been addressed. I'm NOT happy supporting the precedent of a canon ship being treated as such (even if only with hard earned dilithium). It remains to be seen how the Defiant will fare, what its fans will say about it (I'm not one of them as I'm happier with the Phantom design already, but would like it if it's in the pack with a T'Varo), and especially a T6 BoP that's been officially considered and rejected as part of the pilot pack.
eta: the saucer section still pivots wrong as I feared, making it feel like you're flying a ship with an invisible rear than an actual saucer. It is like having an invisible stick that turns something at the end of it, instead of an actual unit that turns naturally like other ships. Wish they'd fix this, but I'm not keeping my hopes up given the T5 having been left abandoned with a half-broken MVAM separation (forced stop) up until now.
Any ship is good with the right gear and the right build.
But ships can be even better if their damn seats, stations and weapon layout made sense which on the Hestia, it makes no damn sense.

I would not say that "better" is the right word, I would rather say "more adaptable".
I will not deny that there are some very good builds that can work just fine with the Hestia, but the
number of viable builds is rather small compared to other ships. If you change the BOFF setup to
the setup nearly everyone wants (Ensing Universal, Tac/Com hybrid instead of Eng/Com hybrid,
maybe Pilot instead of Com), the builds that are viable right not would not suffer from these changes
but the ship would support a lot more builds and would be a good choice for a larger number of
players, who just can't work with the current setup due to their gear and playstyle and don't have
or simply don't want to invest the time or the currency to get matching equipment or change their
playstyle just to fly the Hestia.
So how do you tell how many allies (or bonus) you are currently getting from the Numerical Supremacy trait? I just tested it out and all it shows on the buff/debuff bar is the icon itself. No numeric indicators as to the bonus I'm getting like most other buff icons do (# of allies or something would be nice).
Is it a 10% bonus per ally (10% for you [since it includes yourself and that is the base bonus] and up to +40% for 4 other allies/pets?)
Also, there is no indication in the description as to console pets (like the Elachi support craft from the Elachi Subspace Transceiver Universal console) nor about consumable pets.
I pretty much expect the Defiant to not be as uber as the Pilot Escorts. It will be a 4/3 Escort with a Pilot Hybrid or something like that. Maybe they do something fancy with the Defiant Refit and Retrofit items (Quad Phasers, Cloaking Console), but that might already be expecting too much.
But it will be a Defiant, and I like the Defiant. And the other ships in the 3-set will likely be pretty cool.

I gotta tell ya. For a while I was not a big fan of Cryptic designed ships. But the Pathfinder and this ship are beauties. Well done ! You're tempting me ....
