Please give us the abillity to craft or obtain 360 beams in all energy types

In STO, we have an impressive amount of energy weapon types. At last check on STO Wiki (and there are some missing), there are 37 different energy variations divided into the 6 basic energy weapon types. That is an amazing amount of variety. However, we can only craft the 6 basic types of energy into 360 ARC beam arrays. And out of the 6, I'm pretty sure almost everyone is using AP because of the ability to slot the other AP 360 array (though with the new Tetryon 360 mission reward, there might be a few adventurous players experimenting with Tetryon builds again). It seems like such a waste of all these other energy types. Why not give us the ability to craft, or obtain somehow, at least one 360 array in all the different flavors? As an example, I’d give up my 2nd 360 AP array and attempt to build a coalition disruptor set if I could get a coalition 360. But I don't want a rainbow ship with blue disruptor beams and then suddenly a green one because that's the only disruptor 360 I can build. I think this would allow a lot more variety of builds. Thoughts?

We can craft Omni beam at R&d. If you meant a second Omni, better wait. We already got ap and tetryon. I suspect plasma or polaron would be next since phasers/disruptors got the undine turret to cover them for the meantime.

What they "need" (and I stress that word because a lot of problems could be solved with it) to do is impliment a reverse engineering mechanic to the crafting part of the game.. Say I want a 360 degree polarized disruptor beam array.. I would then have to donate a polarized disruptor beam array or dual beam bank for a *chance* to make a low mark polarized 360 which could then be upgraded.

It would have been easier, to simply offer other flavor omni arrays, as the actual reward.

Instead of limiting it to 1 only!!!

You can craft omni beams for any of the energy types but your beams school needs to be level 15. They're also being sold on the exchange, something like 1m or 2m a pop. Biggest expense in crafting them is the 3 isolinear chips you need for each one.

Ah. You're right, misread that. What he's asking for will never happen though as a lot of those "flavours" have a "price" attached to them, eg: rep weapons (dil), lockbox weapons (zen) etc. Unless of course they made them even more expensive to craft.

Please Cryptic I wanna haz more Powa Creep NOW. lol

Just wait there Tiger. Cryptic will get around to more second 360s... and they won't likely allowing us to craft lockbox weaponry. However you can bet once they are sure everyone has gotten themselves nice upgraded sets of disruptors and AP... that a lobi space set will come along that gives you a good 360 phaser beam. Likely a set that will give another nice bump to Phaser dmg as a set bonus so they can get everyone upgrading phaser sets.

My point is... don't worry the $ wheel shall turn. No need to push them on it... the creep will come.

My Klingon would love a Omni-Directional Elachi Beam Array. I thought it would be neat if we could break down items to their basic components and then use those in R&D. That way you can take a beam, like an Elachi Beam, break it down and take the parts that make an Elachi weapon what it is, then use that component to craft an Omni-Directional Elachi Beam Array.

Maybe in another 4-5 season episodes will we see more weapon options, but while there are still lock-boxes out there on the exchange they won't give those away anytime soon.
