Thoughts on my Phantom

My first attempt at a surgical strike build. originally I was going to use reverse shield polarity for this ship but decided to give it up in favor of A2B so I can spam my BOFF skills. This freed me up to load a full set of intel skills as I didnt need to double up on tac skills. I compensated for the lack of healing by loading the Borg space set.

Here is my current build complete with traits and skills (empty tac slot is focused assault I). I would appreciate any thoughts you might have on it.

Please note I use a variety of ships so my skills and traits are not optimized for this specific ship.

Looks good overall, though it's kinda squishy for my taste. Your initial damage output will be great and that may cause some problems since all mobs will immediately target you simultaneously becasue of your immense threat generation. With ET1 as your only reliable hull heal, since HE's heal scales with aux, you won't live long under fire even with the occasional borg proc heal.

As for intel stuff, the probe isn't especially useful for pve. The only reason why it works for the herald npcs (and annoys people to no end) is becasue they spam multiple copies of this at once. Most mobs will just fly out of it's reach before it arrives and without some crazy partigen points it's damage is negligible. It really is more a PvP thing. Maybe replace it with intel team for the +stealth and reduced threat generation.

So i have a SS built phantom and its amazing to fly. First thing is to fly that ship and not use recirpocity to me is a waste. It lowers the CD on your tactical and intel abilites and helps dramatically on that ship especially. I built mine for speed tanking so i dodge everything. I also use pilot as primary specilization which is amazing for this ship. With that i wouldnt use A2B cause its a waste of slots on that ship and havong to use 3 tschinicians isnt helpful either.

Also i wouldnt use intel team cause with reciprocity you need threat otherwise it wont proc you need to be center of attention for it to work. I try to use abything to boost defense to keep the proc rolling as much as possible. Also i would use OSS 3 which is amazing in combo with SS3.

How exactly did you get an Ancient Omni and Normal Omni to equip at the same time? Last I tried that wouldn't work.
Finally, I can relax and enjoy the vast beauty of the Galaxy.

Ancient omni and kinetic cutting beam do not count towards the one omni per ship rule so you can also fit a crafted omni in the rear with them

I use a phantom from time to time, the a2b build is good for trying to get the cool down reduction but, doing so you have to give up 2 engy slots that could be used for something better and since you get reciprocity you should take advantage of it. For my tac com spot I run ss3, oss3, delta, kemo lt Com tac omega, torpedo spead, tt. Of course if you don't use torpedo you can swap out for focused assult and if you don't have kemo you can swap for a Intel ability you like. For engy drop the a2b and add eptw it helps to keep max weapon power but you also get a damage bonus from it. If you need more healing you can add a2sif or you can add a2damp with the doff, for turn, speed, and resists especially if your using the dbb build. Typically you combine the reciprocity trait with all hands on deck trait to help with the science and captain cool downs. If you don't have ahod use the remaining doff slots to help reduce the cool down of ept engy team and science team. If you still don't like the cool downs you getting you can still run 1x a2b in place of a2sif or damp this will get you the cool downs for eptx and hazard emitters then use remaining doff the help cool down on sci team and engy team.

Also note that the kinetic cutting beam is not affected by boff abilities faw, bo, ss etc nor is it buffed by the tac consoles you are using. It's also kin damage so it's damage is severely reduced until it starts hitting hull. It still might be best if you use a single ap array in its slot as it will get full benefits from consoles and buffs especially ss3. The loss of the two piece set weapon power drain reduction shouldn't affect you if you use oss3 and eptw anyways.

IMO: from what I'm gathering on the meta, if you want DPS, then:
    - All Embassy consoles (Plasma, +Flow) in Science slots (except for TDS if you really want to keep that since its Sci only, correct?)
    - Move all universals into Engineering
    - Get Bio-Infused Circuit Lobi console into Eng slot
    - Iconian 3pc or 4pc (with WC at Epic pronto)
    - Maybe ditch the KCB+Console based on above suggestion, this will allow the Tachyokinetic Converter Lobi console
    - Nukara T4 offensive/defense traits (at least offense)

    What DOffs are you using?
