STO buying retweets

The more people who retweet or share on facebook or youtube the STO Season 11 announcement, the bigger the rewards on the 10th. Here's the link, since it isn't up in announcements, yet.

Can't say that I'm excited about it.

Hey, on the bright side, the job's apparently already nearly done. Only thing not maxed out is Youtube views.

Nice gesture, but I would feel guilty of deceiving other people by doing this though... moral dilemma

You would feel guilty sharing a link to an article related to a game you play? Not sure why, it's not like it is something forcing them to spend money.

DR took care of any goodwill Cryptic had that would allow me to, with a clean conscience, recommend something related to the game site unseen.

Sharing news is not recommending. You are just telling people the same stuff we know then, they can try it or not, and make up their own minds.

I hate getting invite spam for Facebook games, and I would hate this just as much. Last thing I want is to be the guy that brought somebody into this cashgrab extortion model. Might as well just spam links to sunglasses or TRIBBLE sites, hey its just a link

If they'd learned anything, they wouldn't still be trying to sell you the same ship all over again at full price plus premium. Instead they are doing it more and more frequently

I'm sorry but I just cannot take anyone seriously if they talk about hating a game they play yet they still play it. Do me a favor and look me up in game so I can put you on ignore.

So why are you here then if you feel so strongly about it? No, don't bother to answer I'm not interested.

As for the actual idea, good on them, all businesses need to spread the word, if you've got something your proud of why not shout it out, and if I'd made that trailer I'd be proud. DR was ok, it was just short of content and filled the XP gaps with a massive grind, we all had our fill of that I'm sure, so here's hoping Cryptic have learnt that lesson and a New Dawn will a new play style too with less grind and more exploration.

No....just NO! There was no shortage of content, and there was NO grind! They boosted the XP requirements for higher levels, just as there is in any RPG. Personally, levelling is still too quick. No-one should be hitting Fleet Admiral in less than 8 weeks normal play! And as for this perceived 'grind', you'll find it in any game that has character levels, and STO is overly generous in levels. Also, Patrols are part and parcel of a 'military and exploration' based environment...just ask your local Armed Forces, I'm pretty damned sure they'd laugh their faces off if you objected to doing your job. All those Patrols in DR have 'side quests' at the end. Please stop with this 'lack of content' malarky!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

What if they actually learned and that is why they are selling us the same ship (with a different optional costume and slightly improved stats) all over again at full price plus premium?

A business runs on numbers, not the wishful thinking of some players.

It is a free game that requires you to put no money in to play all content. What is the problem exactly?

Maybe if the Devs stopped trying to TRIBBLE the players over and fix their game, then they can get more players to play and even more vet players to come back. A half-assed attempt to sucker players doesn't work against word of mouth.

That'd be one good reason to not retweet that. First, it'd be indeed like the Facebook spam of games and stuff... second I'd not recommend STO to anyone.
I need to get to him. I can't just leave him out there alone. - Sometimes you've got to makes sacrifices, Lara. You can't save everyone. - I know about sacrifices. - No, you know about loss. Sacrifice is a choice you make. Loss is a choice made for you. - I can't choose to let him die, Roth.

Yeah, because "Hey look, thats what interests me so much I want to share it with you" is different then recommending... "By any other name"...

Its like you drive a car for a good part of a decade, you had to repair a whole lot of parts because they malfunctioned, and now it gets hickups common for its age too, but you will still drive it further, because.. well you just did it a long time.
Now a friend would like to buy the same car, with a similar age... would you recommend a car you had a lot of trouble, just because you still drive it?

Thats the fine line some (maybe many) players walk when thinking about STO ;)

I liked that. An accurate example indeed.
