Pre maintenance forum links no longer valid

I have noticed that pre-maintenance links to specific topics on the forum are no longer valid.
Can't say i enjoy having to fix a couple of dozen bookmarks again. Did that with the move to vanilla and compatibility between before and after maintenance of the26th/27th would have been nice.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

If it aint broken...PWE will break it :)

I need the enhancement extension. This update has killed the forums for the 2nd time in less than 3 months. C'mon get your act straight PWE. :D

i noticed that too. plus i haven't found a consistent way to get to the forums. sometimes it works sometime it doesn't. most of time i'm presented with PWI's main forum with no way of getting to STO. searching is still horrid, still have to initiate a search before I can do an advanced search. still can't go directly to the last comment in a thread. hitting the back button sometimes doesn't reload the previous page and scrolling seems to sporadic.

Have you tried the forums on a mobile device? . . . one second it looks fine, then it looks like TRIBBLE . . . no rhyme or reason.
Have you tried the new forum on your phone?

Something I'd like to know is if there is any more tinkering with the forum planned?

While annoyed that i have to redo all my bookmarks (again) i would be royally infuriated if i finished the bookmarks and it'll get f- again next week.

Please note that the perfectworld.vanillaforums.com forums and the "new" arcgames forum (the ones you are reading right now) are not the same anymore. Right now we actually have two forums alongside each other, postings in this forum don't appear in the other.

I'm afraid they'll force us to use these forums with the arc overlay sooner or later, but right now the situation is all sorts of fubar pig-32.gif

I've had this problem as well, though once I got on the forum it seems to be okay......

From what the message said, I got the understanding that they'll want to do it again:
More importantly, this brings us steps closer to other forum features that we are looking to implement including a developer tracker to follow official posts from our team as well as custom themes that will adjust both the aesthetics and usability of the forums.
That to me says it will happen again.

We do know the dev tracker is already in development and has been for a while, though I guess the piece of string analogy is appropriate as far as how long it'll be before the next lot of work is due.

Also, anyone else noticed we seem to have a limit of an hour to edit posts now?

Yeah, I saw that too. Seems to mean people with Adblock (or the forum extension?) are posting in a different instance than people who are not using either of those.

Due to restructuring of the forums yesterday....the links from Google are not going to the right place, either.

You might as well. The community both here and there sucks, and the devs have already abandoned the forums in favour of reddit anyway so it's not like you'll be missing out on anything important. Quite the opposite in fact, you're more likely to miss important information by staying here.

    @lucho80 @ilithyn @gulberat and others:

Thanks to @asterelle I found out that http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline will point you to the "new" ARC forum without the ARC overlay. You may need to login through arcgames first for it to work, but it should do the trick. The extension works with this forum as well.

I like covering my bases, I'm my fleet's Practical Pig who keeps track of stuff that's coming up or going wrong in the game, so I often pop in here as well to check anything that isn't brought up on reddit.

Edit: Okay you can edit stuff, but you need to go to the gearwheel in the top, right corner of your post and it has a 1h timer now. (Even gives you a count down O.o)

    Why thank you XD.

I thought about putting this in the reddit thread about the forum moves and the mess up with PWE and Arc being simultaneously running but not - it was that thread that sent me hunting about for the arc/non-PWE version - but it's already been edited with the info about the non-arc overlay (i.e. this place). I think I'll make a thread about it in the STO PWE forum though.

I want to say I get the best experience with the Forum on a medium sized Tablet 7-8 inch. My phone is too small, and my computer needs to be running ARC to keep me logged in, which is obnoxious as a steam used.

I'm perfectly satisfied with the Tablet experience, but at the same time is at least for me the method that involves the least friction or irritation.

    Great catch guys, thanks!

If it hasn't been turned off already, PWE may need to consider turning off the old instance of the forum (WITH a redirect message telling people how to get to the correct page) so that anyone unaware they are posting in an outdated version of the forum will check and find the current instance.

Failing that--has anyone already notified the other instance that they are posting to an old version? Or do we still need to do that? (I am at work and can't view the old instance the way our computers are set up.)

I was able to get to the old site...somehow (I can't repeat it either) but I posted over in a thread over on CO telling people that they were in a non-existing version of the forums.

Also, CM LaughingTrendy over on Reddit has noticed the issue:
"It appears as though we had a mirror version of the forums.

...I'm actually serious. I'm working to consolidate everything with Vanilla.

EDIT:: I have labeled the old forums as the Goatee Forums."

I am confused....which URL are we supposed to use now?
Should I wait on updating any Forum links?

Does anyone have a working replacement link to "Search" and "Drafts"?
    Used to be :

    http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums#/drafts
    http://perfectworld.vanillaforums.com/search?Search=

(I know they look different "on paper" but they used to work just fine for navigation. )

(P.S...I agree with a previous poster about moving over to Reddit....if all the information I need wasn't over here in old posts)
