Zaria Mission CTD

sadarsasadarsa Member Posts: 4 Arc User
I've been dealing with this issue for Months now (ever since the new sector space), detailing almost every time in the crash report what happened. Yet this crash is still ongoing, do you have people that even read them? or are they they just to make us think you're working?

While doing my Dilithium dailies (the Deferi dailies) the Zaria ground mission crashes about 1/2 of the time. In the zone there is a large cave with 2 Breen groups that have to be eliminated, it seems to always crash in that area (or immediately outside it)

if i get lucky i only have to run the mission once... usually i have to do it 2-3 times, once i ran it 6 times before rage quitting for the day.

I'm also trying to play through this mission with a FED Delta recruit - no joy. I crash at the same spot each time...as I return to the starting point after making way through the mine. Has crashed multiple times, and the mission is not able to be completed for me at this time. This also halts me completing the Breen arc and getting the Delta Recruit awards. Any work arounds or fixes floating around out there by chance?

The latest Tribble test server patch is supposed to have a fix. You could wait for it to hit Holodeck (could be next patch Thursday, could be a while longer), or even better, load up Tribble and see if the problem is resolved for you, and file a bug report if it still isn't resolved (since this isn't the first time they thought they found a fix).

Well, post patch I'm still crashing. I also didn't see anything in the release notes for Zaria unfortunately. Very frustrating to be stuck.

There was a fix mentioned in last weeks tribble notes but I was saddened to see they didn't make it to the Holodeck patch notes :(

Saw the Tribble patch notes as well, after robothitchhiker pointed me in the right direction. Got my hopes up, but no joy. Here's to hoping something comes down the pike soon!

As of today's patch, still broken. I know Cryptic is aware of the issue, as it appeared in the tribble release notes. Please fix this game breaking bug soonest.

Just ran into this myself, keep getting CTD at the same place within the mines which means I can't continue my story arc. This needs more attention.

I've run through it a few seconds ago, start to finish, and the only issue I had was a Breen soldier getting stuck in one of the prisoner cell tubes, meaning I couldn't kill him, so my away team had to finish the task. I'm wondering if the problem is something specific to the computers of those that are being affected by the CTD.
Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

I pointed that out in another post about the same problem. A lot of the crashing problems seem specific to certain GPU's having issues with Direct 3D 11 and STO in certain places, where-as some are having issues right from the loading screen.

For example, my old GPU was an nVidia 9400 GT (which was dying anyway) and had crashing issues getting to the character select screen until I went in with safe mode and switched the game to Direct 3D 9. My current GPU, GTX 750 Ti has no crasshing issues at all. Only issue is that FPS is a lil slow using Direct 3D 11, so I dialed back to 9 again.

So, what I get out of this, is that Direct 3D 11 and STO don't like eachother and causes certain GPU's to have a fit. I'm no computer techie, but this just seems to make sense using deductive reasoning.

Im inclined to agree with you on this point. I've games like Witcher 3 on the latest Direct X release without any issue's. Yet STO like you throws a fit, so I have to roll it back to Direct X 10 I think it is. But every now and again STO will try and reinstate the newer version.

That's why I dial it back to 9. 9ex still seems to get occassional crashes for some people.

Probably going to have to wait for season 11 for anything major.
