well, i claimed the specialization skill points giveway + i have also the skill points from the new fe, but i can't purchase the skills. my toon is kdf kon'war@sennahcherib lvl60
I can concur that this is a problem. I claimed this on one of my characters, but was unable to slot them in. I was also unable to slot them in after earning a new specialization point for my toon, or even after cycling the toon login
I am also unable to slot the spec points on either of my level 60 characters. Due to "having invalid skill distribution". Despite the skill distribution appearing to be valid (that is I have 300K XP in the space skills, and only 66K on the ground skills). I tried to respec by hitting the 'respec' button on the skill page, but the window just closes. And my skills are unaffected.
As a side note (guessing related to the above bug report) I also have my other characters that are over level 50 also showing the same skill related issue (invalid skill distribution reported, but the respec button not working to let me respec)
Same problem here with at least one of mine. PRoblem seems to be skill spec is invalid, and it cannot be made valid. Respecing does not work... can't respec because the current spec points requires have no possible valid configuration to allow it tbe applied because it needs all points spent, and there is no way to spend by having all rank point requirements valid.
I claimed today's 2 free specialization points on my Lvl 60 'toon. It won't let me spend the spec points, claiming I need to respec my skills first, as it seems to think my skills are 'invalid' for some reason?
Ground or Space, I go to skills and click respec: nothing happens.
Went to ESD to the skill retrainer and clicked respec. It lets me "respec" but not "accept." It's being kind of a d!ck about it.
1) It tells me that I don't have enough points slotted in some rank or another. So, I finally managed to get every... last... point... spent... and get rid of the red at the top. But...
2) "Accept" is still grayed out telling me that I cannot respec if I "no longer meet my rank requirements."
WHAT REQUIREMENTS?? I'm a level 60 Lifer Fleet Admiral with several Spec Points already plowed into the system. What more does it need from me?? What switch in the system isn't flipped to allow me to accurately/consistently respect?
Seem to me this is a major bug and needs to get resolved post haste. I've submitted a bug report on the issue. Wonder how long this will take to get resolved?
We've verified it, and fixed it internally. And it looks like the current plan is to patch Holodeck tomorrow morning to fix the issue for everyone.
FAQ:
Q: Is this related to the Free Spec Point Promo?
A: No. Claiming the promo Spec Points will not harm your character in any way. Please claim them while you can - they are only available for a limited time!
Q: I earned "X" while this bug is/was present. Will I lose that when it's fixed?
A: No, everything earned/unlocked while this bug is present will still be there after we repair the issue.
Q: I earned/unlocked a new Trait, but can't slot it. Is this related?
A: Yes, this is another symptom of the same "Skills Invalid" issue. While in this state, new abilities cannot be added or removed from your character. This primarily affects Skills, Specs and Traits.
Q: What IS the cause of the issue? Can we avoid it?
A: The root cause is reaching T4 in the Delta Reputation. If you have not yet reached that point, you can avoid suffering this bug by not progressing your Delta Reputation, if you so choose.
Q: Is there a workaround?
A: Unfortunately, no. You'll be fixed as soon as the patch goes to Holodeck, but until then there's nothing that can be done to remove the error once it's already afflicting your character.
