Tribble Maintenance and Release Notes - August 7, 2015

coldsnappedcoldsnapped Member Posts: 520 Cryptic Developer
We will be bringing down the Tribble server for maintenance to apply a new update: ST.52.20150726a.7.

General:
  • R&D Special Consumable Projects:
    • Removed "x5" from project titles.
    • Updated descriptions on all of these items to indicate that players will receive 5x on a Success and 10x on a Critical Success.
    • All new R&D consumables now have Activation FX/Sound FX.
    • Resolved an issue with the Projectile Schools' consumables, Kinetic Amplifiers, so that they properly work with Torpedoes and Mines.
  • Borg Space Enemies: Instead of the "Assimilate Ship" debuff lingering after the Borg that cast it is killed, it will now end shortly after the caster is destroyed.
  • Go Down Fighting: Damage Resistance component no longer requires outgoing damage, and no longer stacks, but has been increased from +5 to +20.
    • Tooltips for this ability have been improved to clarify its functionality.
  • The NPC ears for Preservers can no longer be used by players.

Server Performance:
  • Resolved an issue which was causing graphics related crashes when launching the game
  • Resolved a number of issues where powers were using too many processes when used which would cause lag to occur for players and also the map itself.
    • Examples: Crystalline Entity “Re-Crystallize” Removal, Borg “Assimilate Ship,” among many others.
  • Several individual player powers have been re-built to reduce their impact on server performance.
    • For all of these rebuilt powers, the functionality that players experience has remained completely unaffected, though some tooltips may be displaying differently.
    • The list of abilities updated in this pass include:
      • Attack Pattern: Beta
      • Kemocite-Laced Weaponry
      • Directed Energy Modulation
      • Suppression Barrage
      • Assault Squad Officer that grants Point Defense Turret to Boarding Parties
      • Shield Distribution Officer that restores Hull while under the effects of AP:Beta

Known Issues:
  • Graphics and performance related issues causing some players to experience consistent crashing.
  • Some players are not able to reclaim the Breen Chel Grett and the Dyson Science Destroyer.

Now that's what I call progress... This new season is really going to bring change. More bug fixes than content - that's what we want to see.

On a side note - I think I may fork out some money to get some more zen on release of the new season.

Look Forward to testing this all.

It's not even part of Season 11, this is still Branch 52.

While we will be doing a more formal testing/playing event early next week, I'd love to hear players' experiences if they're able to try out Infected or CE queues over the weekend, with these changes in place. Specifically while utilizing the abilities mentioned in the patch notes.

I'll try and spread the word, get people onto Tribble. Otherwise, server population will be too low for that. But I use three of the fixed things, so I can run around patrols and RAs and see if I notice a difference.

Not included in the patch notes is that we've added some additional diagnostic tools specifically to help track down any remaining server lag. So if these fixes don't do the trick, we've hopefully got the tools to know what will.

Bort, have just done an ISA and CCA. CCA was still a bit jumpy but ISA was a SIGNIFICANT improvement. If this is the level of fix that we can expect on holo soon then I must say congratulations to you and your team. Still work to do but, my god, a million miles from what is currently happening now

Go Down Fighting: Damage Resistance component no longer requires outgoing damage, and no longer stacks, but has been increased from +5 to +20.

What does that mean exactly? How does the damage resistance not stack? Does that mean currently I get 3 stacks on holodeck but on tribble it's only applied once (but i get more)?

It means you get +20 added to your base damage resistance when using the Go Down Fighting power.

It means something good is about to happen. Something...wonderful. Dave? Are you still there Dave?

I'm still unable to actually get into the game. I keep getting the "game.client.exe is not responding" because of the dx11 thing.

Love the progress on these fixes, great to see you guys are up and at it. I'll make sure to test these and get some feedback going.

If using Windows 7 or earlier, click the start button and in the search box at the bottom type 'dxdiag'. In Windows 10 this search box was added to the taskbar next to the start button.

You should see dxdiag pop up so click it to run it. This is the direct X diagnostic tool. It can tell you what version of direct x your operating system has. After it runs a check click the Display button at the top and at the bottom it should tell if you if no problems were found or list what issues it did find. No guarantee it can find any problems but it's better than nothing.

I love all the bug fixes we have lately, but when will the bug be fixed where Romulan characters can't select KDF or Federation uniforms (depending on their allignment)?

I bought the KDF fleet uniforms and now it turned out that I wasted my resources on them since you can't even select them. According to fleet mates this bug is in the game for over a year now.

You can put the KDF/Fed fleet uniforms on your affiliated BOFFs, just not thr ROm captain. It should cost less on that toon since the toon can't wear it.
  • awlaforgeawlaforge Member Posts: 235 Arc User
And you still can't use even the flotilla uniforms on Romulan BOffs.

It does cost less, it was like Half Price last time I checked.
