Several people have expressed a preference for the older, shorter version of the Bortasqu' boots in a previous thread.

As a request... instead of changing or replacing existing assets, would it be possible to add the new versions as a secondary option wherever possible? That was done with the Defiant's variants, and I greatly appreciated having more options as opposed to having parts changed completely.

Reason being, I'm looking at some of these before/after shots, and I actually prefer the before in some cases. My characters tend to be on the smaller side, and I prefer clothing that is less bulky to match. Obviously that's not the case for everyone, but more options would give greater flexibility.

This too, I'm curious about. Some of the boots I prefer almost how they are now, the newer ones, at least, like the Bortasqu' boots. Having variations of some them instead of a straight up replacement would be preferable, especially since, again, KDF don't have that many options to begin with.

I actually prefer the look of the old Bortasqu' boots. Is it possible to get a shorter version that doesn't cover the knee? A friend of mine specifically unlocked the Bortasqu' costume variants from the starbase in order to get shorter boots. Several people I know have complained that the KDF lacks footwear that isn't overly bulky. Not everyone in the KDF plays as a Klingon.
The one thing I liked about the Bortasque boot options was that they topped out well below the knee. Seems all boot options now HAVE to be above the knee. The added "knee pads" on the bortasque boots doesn't work imo, ruins the almost cowboy boot look they had.

They were the only decent looking boot option for female Orions too, everything else doesn't really suit their dress style imo. Too spikey or oddly shaped.

I mostly prefer the look of the older, shorter Bortasqu' boots but would most definitely welcome the taller versions as another option.

It would be lovely, that instead of overwriting old style, they'd add those as an alternate style. (I personally like the new style) KDF folks have hardly many choices in the customization as it is, so why not broaden it, in rather simple way?

As I said before, the problem with the revamped Bortasqu' boots is that they don't look taller. What they did was instead of making them taller they added leg warmers that go over the knee. :/

It doesn't make sense to wear leg warmers over your pants and in your boots. To me the boots look to be the same height. I would have preferred them to actually make the top of the boots taller instead of these ugly leg warmers. :'(

The Bortasqu' Ceremonial, Guardian, and Operative boots were definitely made taller, as you can see from the screenshots that I posted. The Bortasqu' Warrior boots are the same height as they were before, but they now have what you call "leg warmers". I would have called them "leather socks". What are those things supposed to be anyway?

Yeah. Looking at it again in game they do seem taller, in addition to whatever that thing is that goes over the knee. No idea what they were thinking with that. I still would have preferred those socks thingies to not be there and just the boots made taller. It's possible they could be some sort of knee pad.

I checked all the Bortasqu' boots tonight, both male and female. Not all of them cover the knee, and some of them only cover part of the knee.

    Male
    Bortasqu' Ceremonial: below the knee
Bortasqu' Guardian: covers half the knee
Bortasqu' Operative: covers the whole knee
Bortasqu' Warrior: covers half the knee

    Female
    Bortasqu' Ceremonial: below the knee
    Bortasqu' Guardian: below the knee
Bortasqu' Operative: covers half the knee
    Bortasqu' Warrior: below the knee

I would say "leg warmers" and "leather socks" describe whatever those things are better than "knee pads".

I think the new ones are horrible! :(
Going to have to rework some of my outfits now as the new boots are so radically different that they don't fit the look i'm going for on several of my characters.

Both should be an option, the old ones were pretty nice.
