I keep including this because I keep seeing people ask for it by the way. I've also had several PMs from people on the forums and randomly in game when they spot me to thank me for it. Perhaps it should make it's way back into the OP for maintenance threads?
Also, very glad to see the fleet consoles are being fixed!
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.

Does this fix: "Resolved an issue which was occasionally causing maps to crash" relate to the crashes in the Dyson Ground Battlezone and Zaria? Or is this a different crashing issue?
How about patching the bug that developed after the 10.5 update that doesn't allow some players to actually play the game without having to set it to safemode.

I'd been running in safe mode for months, but last week the patch eliminated my need for it. Have you tried? Or is your issue different from mine? Mine was a DX3D error...

p.s. always interesting to see the weekly patch notes, and see what stuff they were able to fix and what did they weren't...

1. Go in with with safe mode.
2. At character screen, open the options.
3. Go to the display tab, change the Direct 3D setting to Direct 3D 9.
4. Restart the game as normal, and it SHOULD let you in without problems.
5. Then readjust your graphics to your previous settings.
This seems to be the workaround that works for most. Hope this helps.

No my settings were all fine until the update and patch, so it is different. After the loading screen finishes its thing it goes black and becomes non-responsive, forcing me to close it everytime even after going into the options menu and doing all of the settings thing, which does nothing. I even tried installing the game again. There are others besides myself with the same problem.
P.S. I tried everything before I made the comment, that's why I made it. The only option is to run it in safe mode, which I never had to prior to the 10.5 update.

Same problem here. Ever since the last patch, the game overwrites my settings whenever I close it, forcing Direct X choice to Auto. This means I have to run in safe mode and set it back to DX9, then exit and restart every time I want to play. This is usually 3-4 times a day (not counting crashes) and is very annoying.
If there is no fix for this yet, at least list it under known issues. There are several threads throughout the forums, so the devs should be aware of it.
I'd love to see the Directx 11 glitch AMD graphics card users are suffering (such as myself) as well as the glitch with bridge officer skills resetting to their initial build (I've tried all the "fixes" with the latter that never work). Both have been going on since 9.5, and it's been a whole season passed numerically (we're now in 10.5). Get it together already.
Ummm, any chance of fixing the Gateway so we can look at our characters while the server's down for maintenance? I ususally like to be in-game when I can, and waiting for the maintenance cycle to wind down in the meantime it'd be nice to puruse my characters, ships, etc.

This is a really common problem for a lot of users and its happening since A LOT time ago... just saying. And again, (i will excuse you because you are new to the game) the "known" issues list is just a decorative issue, it really has no purpose. If that list will serve any purpose we should have seen in there thousands of "known" bugs lol.. not just 3 xDD.

The "Known issue" list is like a wish list for things you want fixed but probably wont be for the forseeable future.
I'm just catching up with a crochet project and resting my still-healing broken arm while maint is going on.
I had the same issue with having to use safe mode when I played on my laptop, then my son built me a much better desktop and I haven't had to use safe mode since.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
I have always seen the Known Issues list as a list of things that are not only broken, but that they at least have an idea on how to fix them. Now, that's not to say they can get them fixed quickly, or that something in the very next patch won't break it again, just that they have a plan of attack.
They know it's an issue AND they are working on solutions.
If the bug you have isn't on the list, they don't have a clue on how to fix it yet.
I personally have a chat bug that keeps me from seeing anything in zone or local chat, despite having those channels active in tabs. It also prevents me from seeing some individual players from time to time, despite having no one on ignore. I've even gone so far as to log into Champions Online and Neverwinter just to make sure no one is on ignore. Seeing or not seeing players even depends not just on what game I'm playing, but in the case of STO, which 'side' I'm on. I see some players chat while playing KDF side but I don't see them if I play Fed side. I see others while logged into CO but lose others who I can "always" see while in STO. Some I just never see regardless, even though they are in the same global chat channels and fleets as my characters.
I've reported the bug, it is known but there are apparently so few players who have this issue (perhaps a dozen or so from what I've discovered), and it's so impossible to recreate that I honestly doubt I'll ever see it fixed. It's been 2 years now and I've never seen anything official about it.

We should not have to be starting the game in Safe Mode each time to play the game.
