in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Emergency maintenance today and with all of the disconnects and SNR's going on, their main concern is something not showing up in the Armada tab?

    and another trolling of the title of threads post. Sorry if i am not creative enough in my titling abilities for you. And yes a complaint since a lot of us do not think the Armada system is that big of a deal it needs an emergency maintenance. I appreciate their effort to fix the system but other items should have priority..you know...stuff like server stability?

    2. lots of networking issues occurred yesterday, not just with cryptic

    1. Only had SNR since last patch and do not have the problem with any other game I play.
    2. That may be but some heads up would help alleviate people like myself wondering what the heck is going on since we all do not play other PW games and would not know that. Thank you for that information.

    OP it is shard maintenance. I assume you know the difference between that and updates/patches ?!

    Having said that, was hoping tribble was available to waste some time but alas.​​
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Call it what you want...back-to-back maintenance days....they messed something up with the Armada system and that is all that they think is important to note for the amount of downtime?

    I agree with majosea61, my problem with the server only started after the update. It was only fixed by changing a setting in the login options. I'm sorry but that seems like a programing error and not just a server problem. I have been (like a large population of players) playing since the Beta days. I quickly purchased my lifetime subscription and on more than one occasion, I've purchased extras for the game. This is the first time I have ever commented on the forum so know that I speak from experience and not selfishness. Constant monitoring, patching and fixing is a the nature of an MMORPG and its a job I do not and do not want to have. With that being said; this is a bonus weekend and they choose to emergency maintenance the Armada tab? I only hope (but I know I'm wrong) the bonus weekend gets extended by a day to make up for the inconvenience.

    Personally, I wouldn't extrapolate a sense of values from a single comment on the patch notes particularly when only the most general technical details are ever mentioned there (if they're even mentioned at all.)

    What did you expect?? yesterday the patch only lasted for 3 hours, so we needed another 3 more hours. Now with today's maintenance the numbers add up. :)

    If that is the reason of the downtime.. i completely agree. I mean, this is getting ridiculous lol. When are they going to make something that is working 100% as intended and with no bugs since the beginning... nobody knows. We could be avoiding so much maintenance time if they could do things right, sigh.

    Defend Cryptic all you want but this is right in line with their past practices. The game will run for weeks or years with stuff all messed up, then suddenly when an event comes up or a bonus weekend they get a fire lit under their a$$ fixing stupid sh#t. After 5 years of seeing the pattern its obvious this is not coincidence. Their are plenty of things they have ignored fixing for years, some since launch. They only fix things when it is a mechanic that makes them money or screws you out of event time. Most days there is a patch or "emergency Maintenance" people are seen having "worse problems then before the patch" been that way for 5 years, so no its not an isolated or rare occurrence. Besides 2 or 3 hours to fix 4 things? yeah keep clapping your hands for that.

    I just want fix boxes in the lockboxes.. that will be an amazing adittion!! lol.

    Oh no wait.. probably those fix boxes will be bugged and they are going to need a fix. They will need to fix the fix boxes found in lockboxes to be able to fix the game problems. Thats sound more likely.

    It doesn't take any creativity at all. All you have to do is to include in the title a couple key words from your complaint. This thread, for example, is a complaint about what?

    Emergency Server Maintenance.

    There's your title. Even keep the question mark maybe. You could even keep the "Really?" So:

    Really? Emergency Server Maintenance?

    That was really taxing my creative juices.

    The point of the title was to get attention to the content, and I believe the title did just that by the responses it got other than the trolling ones

    Actually, they can only do patches for things that have been fixed... If they haven't found a fix for it yet, then they can't patch for it...

    That's a major issue for some Fleets. I can't believe someone is complaining about a bug fix in general anyway.

    A smooth running game makes them money. I have a feeling if they had a quick/easy fix for the intermittent lag and crash issues some are experiencing; they would have rolled it out too; but they're rolling out fixes as they complete them <--- I don't see how that's a bad thing myself.
