Thanks to SOB@spencerb96 and others from the DPS-50,000 channel who came with us on this run.

    Yep, I can confirm that lag and misfires are still a major issue.

    I truly hope that fixing these issues is amongst the priorities of the dev team.

    Whilst there have been some improvements at times, there is still a long way to go.

    The problem is especially pronounced in high end (50-75K+) teams.

    Eh, i know mate, lot of lag out there, ISA is always like your vid, same story for pvp arena and c&h, ksa, csa, cca.... everything :/ Cryptic, do something!!!

    Unfortunately, it still goes beyond high DPS teams. People using the Command Spec tree and/or command boff abilities cause lag too... Not trying to single anyone out with that statement but it is simply a fact.

    This isn't any sort of cherry picking where they're capturing a particularly laggy circumstance to make it look worse than it is -- it's ALWAYS this bad. The fact that you can log in, queue up, and *expect* nearly unplayable lag is ridiculous. The people who claim they don't get lag are probably soloing some obscure area or sitting around on their bridge. Once you get two or more people the game just gets shot to hell. Needless to say, for a multiplayer game this is unacceptable.

    There is lag, but it's not everywhere and all the time.
    In Tholian Red Alerts there is lag, but it largely depends on what powers are used. The command powers still slow things down significantly.

    In ISA it's doable, but again depending on which powers are used it slows down. Personally i think APB2 may play a role.

    I played Borg disconnected advanced yesterday and had no problems with lag until everyone tried to take down the 3 bosses in the center.

    So stay away from command powers and APB2 and you should be fine.

    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    New ship trait from the Zahl heavy cruiser, perhaps.
    TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
    Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

    Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    No command powers, check. Good thing I didn't get command warbird for them. No Attack Pattern Beta, check. I prefer Omega anyway. But is this really the way to go here? Command powers on command ships that freezes the game to 3fps is not pilot error or bad captaining, it's defective merchandise. They are the ones who get the big money every time a new T6 ship is released. They should be the ones to fix the problems instead of us having to remove boff and ship powers from our game.

    Are you guys seriously expecting lag and server performance issues getting fixed? lol. Im afraid they cant do anything much more, not until the code is cleansed and a lot of bugs are fixed properly. The lag is cause also by a really messed up code, but you guys keep forgetting that.. well, keep asking for lag fixing lol.

    Yeah it is that trait.. notice how GDF delays after that trait is used?

    The lag is real but for some reason it only gets as bad as that video when I run with the high DPS folks (30k channel and up). I think it's a combination of skills these runs are running. It's pretty predictable too. It only starts lagging heavily on the transformers and gate. I think the stacking team buffs are causing issues.

    Skills and traits shouldn't be used to justify lag, it's just a fact that this is an example of really bad programming. Rather then fixing the existing issues first over putting out more ships with potentially extra lag-causing traits and powers, Cryptic has been pushing more and more NEW causes of lag in rather then get the game in a stable condition again. Someone that played the game with me as a try-out couldn't have put it better: "These developers really do seem like a bunch of class amateurs..."

    I still hope Cryptic gets their act together but it doesn't look like it. I'm just hanging around 'till something better pops up in the near future.

    Mmmm, you guys must definitely have better connections than myself, my paultry ISP isn't fast and, having bad issues like this in game just compiles the problem.

    Rubberband man like crazy but, only in select areas it seems!

    Just sat down for some STO for the first time today and holy flippin hell is the lag Epic. E.P.I.C.

    After sitting parked at ESD for a bit watching ships bounding all around, I signed up for a round of CCA. I thought for sure I was getting an AFK penalty, because what I was attempting to do and what was happening on the screen were completely unrelated. How I managed to do enough damage to receive credit, I'll never know.

    Log in times are getting shorter and shorter. At some point you just have to wonder, why bother?

    P.S.

    And I finally lost connection. If the game insists on logging me out, who am I to argue?

    I deliberately go in with mixed teams. Happens when you grab 2-3 from roster and meet 1-2 pugs.

    I’m telling you. Heavy problems here on space maps. Checking with other team members always gives a similar impression making it highly unlikely that the problems are on the players end, only the results. Misfire is particularly bad.

    Cryptic sold us power, we bought (or played for it) and got a bad game quality delivered right along with it.

    I’m also quiet certain that this is the reason why they at least speared us 10 more spec trees in S10.5.

    There has been no improvement since they finally acknowledged the lag problems after the start of season 10. NONE.

    Its gone up and down a little but we're about where we started lag-wise.

    I still get FAW misfires constantly and most of my damage is from faw or faw procs. And side note: I still crash to desktop constantly on map changes which came around the same time as all these other problems.

    Who would've thought I'd ever be pining for the simpler times of Delta Rising when pressing a button actually activated a power

    lol sry but the lag will never be fixed...NEVER. we should try to live with it. I see it as normal now.

    Casual is the only way to play, I decided this myself some time ago. Otherwise it's just putting your soul through the meat grinder.

    Even so lag does affect everyone at some points in the game. I count myself lucky since I barely have to put up with it, but I still do. Still have to viciously click on icons like a madman until the power decides to trigger, still rubberband all over the place - I think I pull up just outside enemy range and it turns out I've parked right on top of them - and in a packed BZ frame rate drop is pretty much guaranteed.

    People like to focus on the server limitations, but I think the game engine itself just can't handle it. It's struggling under the pressure and it's only going to get worse the more work it has to do.

    I think Cryptic know this. They've been preening away the weaker missions, they've ripped exploration clusters out completely. Won't be long until more is taken away.​​
