I am NOT happy about this!
Just Wednesday, July 15, I bought a new fleet warp core and 1 of the modifiers was changed with yesterday's patch. I also checked the fleet spire store and the exact core I bought is listed with the changed modifier. I'm positive I purchased the correct core because I had added it to the STOAcademy skill planner and made damn sure I didn't buy the wrong core by mistake.
Warp core purchased: Elite Fleet Plasma-Integrated Warp Core Mk XII [AMP] [Eff] [Trans]
[W->S] [WCap]. The '[W->S]' was changed into '[A->S]'.
I bought this core with those exact mods and then you guys go and flat out change it. There is a core with the mods I had but it has [SSR] instead of [Trans]. I'm gonna have to buy a new core with a modifier I DON'T want, spending even more fleet credits and dil. This is not fair one bit. You don't just go and change things like this without warning!

The patch notes said this:
I was under the impression that only Rare and Epic quality warp cores were being changed. NOT the Ultra Rare fleet core I just bought and didn't upgrade at all.
Any core with the mod would be changed. Synergy tags (X->Y) appear at the Rare level, so it's called the 'rare' mod, much like EWS, AMP, CON, and EAS appear at the UR level, and are called the 'UR' mod, or how skill bonuses appear at the uncommon level and are thus the 'uncommon' mod.

That makes sense.
I double checked elite fleet warp cores at my fleet spire and I was mistaken. None of them come with [W->S] anymore. I was seeing [S->W] because my brain was being dyslexic.
It would be nice if there was a list of what mods epic quality gear gets when upgrading stuff. I know some stuff has fixed mods they gain and some might be random. I can't seem to find any info on the wiki about it.
Edit: I'll just stick with the warp core I bought a couple days ago. Though, the reason why I bought one with [W->S] is because my weapon power is higher than auxiliary on my engineer I bought the core for. Not a big deal though since I have plasmonic leech and EPS Power Transfer III. Heh.
That's absolutely ridiculous though.
I understand that people who had this as an Epic Mod spent a lot to get it, but how many players use that Fleet Core? It's the most popular Core, there are literally thousands of players using it, and we all got screwed on this.
A much better solution would have been to change the Epic Proc to something else instead of applying a massive functionality nerf to the rest of us. I spent a lot getting my Core to Mk XIV and now I have to buy a new core.. it's a lazy and stupid excuse for a 'solution.'
The sensible option would have been to either allow the Epic proc to stack, or just left it alone. Instead, we got a global nerf on one of the most popular cores in the game.
Perhaps you have access to information I don't. I know i don't have the numbers to say how many players have Warp Cores with the Rare [W->S] mod vs. how many have the Epic variant of [W->S] vs. how many have [W->S]x2. But I'm sure Cryptic does have those numbers.
But I'm pretty sure that if I'd paid tens or even hundreds of thousands of Dil and EC to upgrade my core and one of the reasons for doing so was to get the Epic version of [W->S] and if Cryptic had then changed that one to something else, I'd be pretty annoyed. And regardless of what they changed the non functional mod to, someone was/is bound to be annoyed about it.
And despite what you might think ... no, you do NOT speak for the entire game population, nor probably even a good portion of them.
I never claimed I did. In fact, I advocated for a solution that was beneficial to both like allowing the epic mod to stack or leaving it alone. The preferable solution would have been to allow the Epic Mod to give a further benefit and not TRIBBLE anyone over.
If you can't be civil then just refrain from the discussion. I wasn't rude to you, you should show the same consideration. I do know a good number of people that were effected by this, but no where near a large enough sample to determine the ratio among all active players. Regardless of which section of players is larger, a solution that just unfairly screws over either side is a lazy and silly excuse for a 'solution.' There is a much better way then the half hearted and pathetic solution put forth by our lazy developers.
The method put forth is not a 'solution' or a 'fix.' It's simply Cryptic deciding which group of players gets the shaft. If you were on my side of it, you would be just as upset as I am.
I wasn't aware that i was being uncivil. My apologies if that is the way you interpreted my comment.
However I will quote (seaofsorrows wrote on July 19 2015) "It's the most popular Core, there are literally thousands of players using it, and we all got screwed on this."
This sounds like someone claiming to have information or an opinion that coincides with a large portion of the games player base. Which may or may not be true (and IMHO is not true), however I believe Cryptic would more than likely be in a better position to judge this, and despite popular opinion, I don't think they purposely go out of their way to alienate large swathes of their players.

No worries man, my apologies if I misread what you posted. I can see how what I wrote would give that impression. Hopefully, no hard feelings.
