delta sector is the worst..ground so.so,space is pure horror...
I really thinking of unistalling this game, this game is gone to hell,1 year ago.i im St fan but this is pew,pew game, with bad coding, lag spikes...and so on,and on..i have 6 ships or more i dont even fly ,new ships..i dont care about the money, but more and more this seems like a waste of time. One day game is lag free then 4 or 5 days game is unplayable..new season guys i really cant care less..Armadas..yeah you need armadas becouse people running away from this game so nice try,but if you dont fix the gameplay, all this is for nothing..this game is more then 5 years old is not a fail, but now is just one mediocre space game with Star trek label ,nothing more...
yeah i think game is broken beyond repair, ships are not content, chasing dps is stupid like overclocking your video card for 5 % more fps, same thing...
Give players planet to land on,give us story, give us real war,not this iconian misery..
Many mi friend ,long time friend left, for all this reasons, these are not people who came yesterday into this game ,real star trek fanatics, but dps star trek and engine who cant take all this spawning and damage ,are you serious cryptic.
i really like to belive with 10.5 season all this problem will be gone ,but to long you keep as around with empty promises and nothing is really happening.
to new players, game is good not great like before if you can take the lag spikes,dc and other bad stuff.give this game a try.
cheers..

People stop caring about gameplay and quality control ages ago lol. Welcome to Star Trek Online. If you want a mmorpg where quality and stability is the most important aspect to care, this is not your game. What is most important here is, content, even if it is broken and making players happy. How make you players happy?? doing a lot of events, giving away stuff, selling ships, and releasing content. As i said, since cryptic knows that players really dont care about bug fixing or general quality, they really dont need to fix lag, bugs or watever. So my advise is, go to play other game before you break your computer lolz.
About the Iconian war.. i suposse they are going to include more things about it in the next patch. I mean, there is absolutely nothing right now about the iconians, the writting is terrible and if all wars were like this one, Starfleet will be the masters of the universe eons ago lol. I imagine in the 10.5 patch we will have more iconian stuff and more "war", i really hope so.. if not.. it is going to be so terribly pathetic...
Yes, thank you for that. It's not the devs, it's Cryptic's ISP, CogentCo, that's the problem. "Programmers" and "guys who pay for Internet service" are two different categories of employee.
I have to agree with you, I have not had to deal with Lag (some minor rubberbanding here and their) for a very long while. It kind of makes me wonder if players who are dealing with lag have discussed it help find commonality with their issues. (For example, players in one region all have dial-up, or DSL).

The other space ones i mentioned are a given for lag spikes, rubber banding or constant lag from start to end.
Is it server ?, is it the game engine ?, is it inefficient coding and multiple system memory guzzling player skills being activated in quick succession ?.
The power skill refresh you get when trying to active a power and it goes into a 3 sec lockout would indicate a memory/engine processing issue.
Do i have faith it will be fixed ?. No i do not, it may get better for a few days or a week then the next patch.update comes along and the house of cards falls down again.
But hey, everyone who plays games on computers and knows how to mod their systems already know all this!

I heard something like a rumor. It's nothing I can back up. However, it's being whispered in intangible noises and shown in blurry misspoken dialections that, soon, very soon, you will be able to purchase a device that only has to sit in your inventory for space and ground. This whispy device is supposed to remove ALL LAG from your computer. It will only cost 1 billion quatloons. You will have to buy one for each facet of your personality, as lag is something that can only be measured relative to your position in the known universe and the origin of all machine power.
Actually A LOT of people lol.
What they dont know, is that star trek online is not like other games. And Cryptic/PWE is not like other companies. And we all know (at least experienced players) how in such bad state is the core code of this game right now. That alone is a big problem, because it keeps difficulting the "easy" fixing of everything and eventually some parts of the code became almost impossible to fix, but if you add lag to that and other issues, you could say that this game is far different from almost any mmorpg out there, in terms of lag, bugfixing, stability, lack of quality control and a few more things. If you dont know this by now... you need to play more videogames, because nothing out there is even closer to STO. And i say this from my deepest respect to what is left of STO, that i still enjoy.

It's not like switching home service providers. Keep blaming Cryptic if you like, but at this point I doubt they could successfully switch ISPs.
I'm sure I'll shortly be accused of white knighting or something. Rationality is such a pointless thing.
Yep, bad here, I can do missions, somewhat.... though get disconnects in them sometimes. I've given up queues as I've already ended up with an AFK penalty twice attempting to do them due to such severe rubberbanding server not responding lag that I "did" (Read 'could') not contribute enough.
Regularly getting server not responding messages when entering missions and changing maps.
Run a KSA with some reasonably high hitting players (10k+, seems it gets worse the more passives and abilities are running) and then you'll see the crippling lag that we are talking about.
Alternatively, try a full Starbase Fleet Defense. Rubberbanding even during the opening minutes when there is absolutely no combat.
This has nothing to do with system requirements or the user's connection to the servers. This is a server-side catastrophe and it is getting worse with each update.
That map has always been a lag fest, before even LoR even came along. The game just can't handle that number of players, hence the distinct lack of 20 man queues in recent expansions.
Of course saying that the same lag can be experienced in a full BZ. If the number of players is in double digits the frame rate suffers, and the UI lag is just annoying.
It will get worse with each update. Fancy new weapons, spec tree passives/abilities with flashy graphics...it's all increasing the server workload. I wouldn't be surprised if the recent lag issues around specific spec tree abilities repeats again in the future.
Touch wood I've not had much issue with it. It's an inconvenience to rubber band and lag every so often but these days I'm just used to it.
Not noticed any other lag, really.. Perhaps in space zones with lots of other players, like the Undine battlezone, but that is it.
2. to mouch bugy abilities... 3. to mouch bugy FX,and particle effects...
Two of those problems will never get fix...
While I havent done either of those I have done a lot of CC mark hunting in the Undine space BZ and even when the whole map is stomping a single planet killer, or grouped up to massacre voth I dont see noteworthy lag, so yeah it may have something to do with peoples connections and/or computers.
I'm not accusing anybody of anything, I'm saying that there's only so much Cryptic can actually do to speed things up. A computer system is only as fast as its slowest component, and CogentCo's packet bottlenecking is a known serial offender: there's been innumerable tracerts and pathpings done in the Network Issues subforum, all pointing to the same culprit.
Of course we will keep blaming cryptic, because the problem is not in the user-end. Obviously you didnt follow the career of cryptic all these years. Because you sound really naive in your words.
Oh well, they have so much money they could buy the best servers in the world, you know.. but, nah, who cares if there is no lag at all.
Yep, and if Congento is the issue, then PWE/Cryptic shoulders the blame, Congento is their provider, not ours. We do not have a relationship with Congento, we have a relationship with ourproviders and PWE/Cryptic..... any relation we have with Congento flows through PWE, and PWE is thus liable for the issue.

So... the solution will be??? lol, get rid of Cogentco. Its exactly the same lol.
