Thanks to the suggestions in the previous poll I've put together a new and (hopefully) improved version. More detailed answers than before; time will tell whether this will generate a more accurate picture of the user base. That, and launching this during weekly maintenance will in theory get more responses.

No i dont. I love interesting and useful polls, not the opposite.
Dont worry im pretty sure the forum is going to be modifiyed to cap the poll creation soon enough lol.
I mean, I've done one poll, in Ten Forward, about how people were going to handle Windows 10 when it became available, and it generated what I thought was an interesting, productive discussion.

And yeah, as long as their are not stupid options in the poll I don't mind.
Bingo. Once the "new option smell" wears off, then polling hopefully will be something like this thread - a player-sponsored idea to gain a semi-useful metric that we're either not going to see from the Devs and/or something that might want to be considered by the playerbase & Devs...
Such as this thread being used to point out that, as of my posting, 55% of the respondents are guys who strictly / primarily run Fem toons. Therefore, if I was a Dev / Designer, I know that I could either spam much costume sales by going risque (as the majority of guys playing ladies seem to like the "more revealing" outfits due to eye candy concerns), or I could attempt to encourage a much more appropriate gender match throughout the playerbase by making most/all the feminine clothing options "professional".
Also, this poll may be either preventing a different poll on the subject, encouraging one, or preparing context for one. I mean, I'm now "so tempted" to write a poll asking people how they dress their female characters - professional / risque / their idea of "hot" (dresses, semi-revealing vs the much more risque ToS Mirror & Orion Native Garbs, etc.) / based purely on RP/Character concerns (Hothead Elisa Flores might have a different uniform take than cucumber-cool Vulcan gradutate, even though both wear a variant of the Oddy uniform) - and have said poll have male and female options (so the 55% or so of guys that play mostly/exclusively females can be segregated some from the females) and we can start to see if there's things like "uniform disconnect" (guys running around as risque/hot as possible - possibly / primarily for eye candy, ladies running around much more "professionally" unless their desired character concept encourages / requires the use of the skimpy/risque/"hot")...
But, I might hold off on said poll until there's a lot more respondents (especially female respondents) and that there still is a significant majority of the userbase (40%ish?) that's using primarily/exclusively female characters...

Right, because knowing if people picks more males or females is an "useful" poll.. oh yeah.. now i see your point..
I didn't say useful, I said interesting. Nvm, forget I said anything. I'm ending this before it turns into flaming and drama.

My character Tsin'xing
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
^ This for me...I see no real logical reason to go out of my way to choose a all male or female boff crew.
I do, I find that I have much more fun with the game having the crew I want rather then having random boffs on away teams and on my bridge. It makes leveling up through story missions more enjoyable seeing your customized boffs along side you. The importance of it differs from person to person I guess.
But does it matter though? Does this so severely hurt you that you can't go on in life?
Some people will complain about EVERYTHING.
And I voted in this too.
Interesting data... less than a male out of five only uses male characters...

Can the females be equal in badassery to your main?

To be even more concrete - my top 3 PvP toons in order:
1. Vulcan Female (Tac - DD)
2. Alien Male (Eng - Healer)
3. Trill Male (Sci - Support, CC, Debuffer)
No, what matters to me (and should for everyone) is that we are going to end with the forums filled with polls like this one, while others more interesting/important are going to be missed. Is that what you want? ok sir, no more arguing here.
Maybe his ladies are MORE badass.
