I can't see the 'making polls on the forum' choice anywhere. Every other new thread since being here seems to be a poll. At least Vanilla got something right eh?

I have been around for years, but don't post often, since there tends to be so much back-and-forth sniping. But quickly answering a poll question is something I can get behind without fear of being shouted down.

Battlezones/Adventure Zones (and Alerts) for me.. I like that you don't have to wait in a queue and just can enter/leave like you want.. we need more of these ;P !!!

    STFs or other Queued missions
STFs, especially with fleets/friends, and competent players, in the sense of at the very least making the slightest effort to read, communicate and try to learn objectives.

Don't mind honest mission failures, or taking a longer time to finish a map. I find that part of the fun in the challenge of it. But when 'the oblivions' join advanced space STFs, or some elite ground STFs completely clueless and often dead-set on causing mission failures without actually blatantly trolling, it gets annoying, and I wish Cryptic would find a way (out of so many ways) to block entry to advanced/elite to those incapable of such basic tasks. Now Normal gives everything you need for rep gear, so there's no saying it's no longer F2P. With fewer queuing, pre-made teams just take longer to form than risking a pug to someone who decides to pop a gen or enable all 3 herald portals before seeing green on mandatory objectives causing a fail you cannot prevent and just switching alts to try again.

But back to the poll, yes, STFs in teams, because it's an MMO, and team dynamics add a lot of unpredictable scenarios and fun combinations to experiment with on top of tweaking alts, ships, and gear.

Hehe, I thought something like this as well. I don't get people's fascination with polls. For isntance, the OP could simply have created a thread with that question and people could tell their story. Now they try to pick something that isn't quite really what they actually think and the resulting vote is utterly meaningless.

@ OP: This is not meant mean spirited, mind you. But polls rarely make much sense. To add to the topic: I have the most fun tweaking my builds to fit certain (rp-ish) themes, extend characters backstories and occasionally visit red alerts/deep space encounters to grind out marks and equipment.

Probably leveling up new characters. Its fun to try the different races and classes. I level up a new character maybe once every 2 or 3 months though to give me enough time to refresh myself from the last play through of the story. I enjoy foundry missions too though.

Exploration was not on the list; it's my favorite part. While many of the story arc episodes are reasonably well-written, the gameplay execution is often unbalanced. Exploration of space encounters, patrols, and some foundry missions make up an ideal mix for my gameplay, but we've been inundated with event grinds to the point where there is not much slack time to pursue my normal game preferences.

I get what you are saying - the reality for each person is much more dynamic than the simple choices offered above. But there isn't a great way to summarize that information, since it is unique to each person. Maybe I am just bad at navigating these forums, but when 1 or 2 voices tend to dominate threads, it is hard for me to tell if a lot of others really fell a certain way or are simply staying out of the conversation. You are a fairly active poster, so it may be easier for you to type out your thoughts succinctly. Personally, I would rather just cast my vote in a general direction than have to make a detailed, well-scripted essay.

I voted other, would have voted stf's as that is where most of my playtime is spent, but tbh I have most fun when doing group activitys with my fleet. So really it's a mix of stf's/Queues/Socializing.

This is one of those polls that would be better suited for multiple choices instead of just one. Anyway for me, in no particular order:

    - Featured episodes
    - Open-ended battlezones (mainly ground)
    - Holiday events

Getting into the foundry (both playing and creating) is something I've always meant to do, but never have. Maybe someday.

    This also applies to me:

Doing RP on missions to see the story and getting gear from them. Also I hit some red alerts and enemy contacts as well. This is about the extent of working with other players. Since I don't have time to mess with ques. I rotate 3 characters so there is always something to do.

    Playing the markets (Exchange, DIlithium)
I chose playing the market; just because I do sometimes score an unexpected deal that I either use for myself, give out as a reward in my fleet, or sell back for a higher cost.

Although I also get enjoyment from just hanging out with my fleet, which isn't on the list.

For me, it varies. I go through phases. When I first started playing, I had the most fun with the FE and story arcs. They were such a major part of the experience for me that when they stopped, I would drop out of the game for a couple of months. Then I became obsessed with BZs. Loved them to death and would just log in to do those.

Now it's Brotherhood of the Sword and getting my Delta Recruit--my first alt ever-- all caught up.

It really is a close one between Foundry and FE/Story arc missions for me.

I love the content that our talented Cryptic team(s) have put out for us, but the Foundry just wins out due to sheer volume of imaginative authors (91,000 Foundry missions vs. maybe 100 Cryptic missions). Even if you throw out 90,000 of those missions as terrible, that still leaves 1000 really cool missions to play through over a BROAD spectrum of story plots. Besides, it's just so cool to be able to contribute to the game in a productive manner and see what others have made, creating essentially an unlimited universe to explore. :)

Now if we could just make it easier for folks to find all that cool content... (see link in sig below)

My first answer is "Story Content", aka, the actual Game.

My second answer is "anywhere but ground combat". The STO ground combat system annoys me.
