Aside from a buggy trait (yes, posted in the bug report section), the ship is very fun to fly. Has the right feel between an escort and a light assault cruiser.... THIS is what a Destroyer should feel like. The Command hybrid seating is just a very nice bonus for some builds.

I don't suppose upgrading one faction version will unlock the other 2 as well, as it is basically the same ship?

Fleet ships are single character purchases. If you want it on multiple characters you need fleet ship modules for each of them along with fleet credits. It would be nice if they made fleet ships account-wide unlocks, or at least permanent character unlocks. As it has been, if you discharge a fleet ship you have buy it all over again.

Edit: If you purchase the bundle of all 3 ships in the c-store then you will get a fleet ship module discount for all 3 factions for the fleet versions. But if you only purchase 1 of them in the c-store then you only get the discount on the fleet ship for the faction you bought the c-store ship for. Fleet ship module discounts are account-wide, so all current and future characters on your account that can use the ship get the discount. But you still need to spend fleet credits and a ship module (or modules) to get a fleet ship for each character.

This thread isn't about the ships you think it is. It's about the Veteran ships. :P

I was excited to get a T6 fleet ship for the first time, but I should have read the fine print before signing the contract. These are the first "T6" ships I've seen with only 4 mastery levels, so you won't get a ship trait out of them. So much for LTS benefits... :s

Very misleading, in game you list T6 Fleet Veteran Heavy Destroyers ships as getting a trait then you buy the ship and do not get any traits.

The Tier 6 Fleet Vet ships don't get the 5th mastery, it's the same as the other Tier 6 Fleet ships, which never had it by design. If you want the trait, you'll need to unlock it by using the normal Tier 6 Vet ship, then get the Fleet version of the ship if you want that. It's not misleading at all.

Its very misleading. When you go to buy the Fleet heavy Destroyer T6 is says you get the partner In Arms Starship trait. You get no such thing and there is no way to unlock it.

It's not misleading at all. You don't get the trait with the FLEET version of the ship. You would already have the trait if you unlocked it by using the non-Fleet version of the ship. That's not misleading. That's straight-forward to me. It's not Cryptic's fault that some people cannot imagine another way to get the trait.

No harm no foul really. I assume if you got the fleet version you intend to actually use the ship seriously. If so, just get the non-fleet version for free and unlock the trait. I have no hard numbers but it feels like a good trait.

You unlock the trait by unlocking tier 5 of the mastery on the non-fleet version of the ship, then you can use that on the Fleet version of the ship. Is that method still misleading to you?

hmm, I don't know about partner in arms. The trait for the vet ships is Weapon System Synergy for torpedos.

Yes very misleading as you do not get the partner In Arms Starship trait with the non-fleet version of the ship. Yet when you buy the Fleet version it says you get the Partner In Arms Starship trait. So you pay for a trait you never get. How many times do I have to say you do not get the trait listed with the none fleet version.

Yes, you do.. it's part of the Tier 5 Mastery.. It's not misleading at all. Even though the trait you keep mentioning isn't even part of the Vet ship anyway, your argument that it's misleading is in fact misleading in and of itself. Since Sheldon mentioned that the trait is Weapon System Synergy as the trait for the Vet ships (all three of them).

That's not the trait though. The trait is Weapon System synergy (this link lists the real trait as part of the description). You get that trait, WSS, through going up the 5 tiers of the mastery. Then you don't need the trait to be on the Fleet version since you don't really need to get the same trait when you level through the 5 mastery levels. Partners in Arms is a mistake, whoever did that should make an edit to make sure the trait's the right one.

So what about all the people who paid for the ship and didn't get what's listed? As for the webpage its hidden away and will get harder to find over time. Few players check the website or forums and most relay on what's in game. Anyway the webpage is so badly designed its over 50% black screen at high resolution or 75% black at Ultra HD. Hardly readable. You get a tiny strip of text in the middle of the screen. So you have to fight past that terrible website design to get to the truth about the ship. So I stand by saying its all very misleading. Many players have paid for a ship and not received what's listed in game.

I see, it's a typo. That trait comes from the Hazari ship, which I believe is a lockbox ship.

So? They got the trait that's on the ship. So what if it isn't Partners in Arms? They have Weapon System Synergy which is the native trait for the Tier 6 Veteran ships. It may be hardly readable to you, but I have absolutely no issue reading the forums. Again, you can stand by that it's misleading all you want, the fact remains that it isn't misleading. The trait listed in game is a mistake... are you going to say that you never make mistakes?

So what about all the people who paid for the ship and didn't get what's listed? As for the webpage its hidden away and will get harder to find over time. Few players check the website or forums and most relay on what's in game. Anyway the webpage is so badly designed its over 50% black screen at high resolution or 75% black at Ultra HD. Hardly readable. You get a tiny strip of text in the middle of the screen. So you have to fight past that terrible website design to get to the truth about the ship. So I stand by saying its all very misleading. Many players have paid for a ship and not received what's listed in game.
“So? They got the trait that's on the ship. So what if it isn't Partners in Arms?
A: You are not getting what you paid for. You are getting something different which might be of zero use to you.
B: If you only buy the Fleet ship only you get told you get a trait but you end up with zero traits. So again you are not getting what you paid for.

“It may be hardly readable to you, but I have absolutely no issue reading the forums.”
That suggests you don’t run at high resolution so you don’t run into the problem this website has on high resolution screens.

“Again, you can stand by that it's misleading all you want, the fact remains that it isn't misleading.”
Do you known what mislead means? You can argue if they are misleading us deliberately or inadvertently via a mistake but the fact is they are misleading us by the definition of mislead. Personally I think its deliberately as they have known about the mistake since day 1 and its still not fixed and they have been deleting other ships from players accounts forcing them to rebuy ships they have already paid for. But it doesn't really matter if its deliberately or inadvertently its still wrong. People are spending money and not getting what they paid for.

Edit: Of course I make mistakes but there is a difference between making a mistake and making a mistake that misleads someone. If I make a mistake that misleads someone I do my best to do something about it. More so when money is involved. There are laws over this for a reason. You cannot tell someone you are selling Item description A , then after they hand you money give them Item description B which has items removed. Do you not see how that is wrong?

Okay, I'm done arguing with you. I will say this one final time: it is not misleading. Call it misleading all you want. That's your right. Again, I'm done arguing with you.

No its not a right, its a fact based on the English dictionary definition of misleading. Why do you have so much trouble understanding that? What on earth do you think mislead means?
