I was a level 53 Fed-Romulan Delta Recruit Tactical Romulan.
I played through The new House Pegh episode and upon completion chose the reward that would give me the specialisation point.
I used it and redeemed the point against a skill in the pilot tree. I was now Level 53 with 4 specialisation points.
I changed map a few times and did a mission in the Cardassian story arc At which point I Levelled up to 54. I played borg disconnected before remembering i should now have a specialisation point from levelling up.
I did not. I am now level 54 with 4 specialisation points. It didn't give me a point when i levelled up i assume related to the fact i opened a box. Possibly there is a check before level 60 saying that a character cannot have more than x amount where x = Level 5x?
Submitted a bug ticket I'll look for the number when home tonight but thought to try a detailed post highlighting the issue here.
Hi, same problem with me, i used the spec point awarded from the mission at lvl 54 then lvled up to 55 only to receive nothing. I hope this is not working as intended. As i am unsure when/how this will be fixed i need to stop grinding lvls as i don't wanna see next point is lost too.

Glad it isn't just me. I have a suspicion that below level 60 there is something limiting how many skill points you get in order to match it with the levelling system. So additional spec points aren't allowed above your level until 60. But only when you level will you notice this.

You are correct. The devs should have addressed this before allowing players below level 60 to receive the specialization point reward.
Guess they forgot how the point system they designed worked...
Anyway.. was level 59 when I got the weekly, leveled up to 60, no point awarded. Ticket #3479681
We have confirmed this report, and are working on a series of solutions that we'll communicate as soon as they're in place.
Very sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for catching the error. We'll get this straightened out, including finding a way to give you the points you earned and lost.
More to come.
Edited to add a "Workaround":
- If you're afraid of being bitten by this bug, you can choose to not open the Specialization Point package on a character that is below 60, until this is straightened out. Characters at 60 are not affected by this error.
- Additionally, if you've already claimed the package and are NOT yet level 60, you can avoid losing points by not gaining any levels. (that's kind of a lame workaround, I know)

Woo glad i wasn't going crazy is enough for me. Sadly the two workarounds arew obviously too late now for me, but i hope this message can get out to other players to stop this happening to others.
Same happend to me, when i went from 57 to 58, didn't got the spec-point you normaly get !!
So for all people that kept leveling (but opend the spec point below level 60), we don't get our lost spec-point ??

read the post from Bort. You do get it after this week's maintenance.

That sounds like the person in comment #8 would not be reimbursed.
The problem is any time its the fault of Cryptic they never reimburse due to the problem usually they just put in a stealth fix and walk off like it never happened. Then if you bring it up again they just go tell you to go grind it back again.

If you bothered to read the thread before choosing to spout this vitriole, you might've seen that we're doing exactly that -- attempting to reimburse any players affected by this bug.

Works for me, I have 47 more characters to play on.
Resolved an issue where players under level 60 which chose the Specialization Point reward from House Pegh lost a Specialization Point when leveling up.
For players who have already experienced this, an additional fix will be applied shortly after this update on Holodeck to obtain the lost point.
I wonder how long this will take to occur. I still haven't got my point but i expect this script will be run somewhere between last patch and next patch, ill wait till thursday before bringing this up again.
The fix for this has already been ran on players, based on the data we were able to pull.
If you were a victim of the original bug, and were not restored, please file a CS report. They have a complete list of all players that were reimbursed, and can use this to take appropriate action.

I would say no after this response received at 06/11/2015 04:19 PM through the arc support page.
Fix was not applied to my character that lost his specialization point due to error in code with the release of the weekly specialization reward in the featured episode on sto.
Character is Roger@kevincarlyle he was 59 when the reward was received, used the reward point, then did not receive the earned point at 60.

"I understand that you have some concerns about not receiving the specialization point for your character. Having reviewed the information you supplied, we’ve come to the conclusion that this may be the result of an unreported gameplay bug. Regretfully, we don’t have a resolution for the issue at this time, however we’re always trying to improve the gameplay experience for all of our games and we appreciate the time you took to notify us of your concern. This maybe the case Borticus, however, it didn't fix it. Hit 59 And no point. Now, I did use both points on the same officer...

We will be running a targeted fix-up with maintenance this week, to restore lost Specialization Points to anyone that met these criteria:
- Between level 50 and 59
- Opened a Specialization Point package
- Subsequently leveled, losing the point
If you have been affected by this bug, and don't see the reimbursed point after this week's maintenance, please let us know.

Not really, they were level 59 when they opened the spec point and that covers it. I'm looking for a fix too, so thanks for the quick fix!
I see where you are coming from, but it depends if it is looking for characters CURRENTLY between 50-59.
Or
Characters who were 50-59 when they opened the box.
The Latter would cover him.
Read it as
[50;59]
not ]50;59[

Do not see the reimbursed point and letting you know now that it has been 6 days after the maintenance you spoke of.
