I've been wanting to create a map where the player has to use a floater. However, I don't see a way for my test character to get a floater. I can't get go into Risa's orbit in Preview Mode, whether I drop the mission or not.
Does anybody know how to give your test character a floater. If not, how do you test your maps that are geared towards their use?
The issue may be that you're trying to get there on a character that is below level 10, as most Foundry test characters likely are. I just tried on my KDF test character, who was created in that time when all KDF characters started at level 20 or something like that. He was not able to transwarp to Risa via the mission journal, but I was able to fly there and beam down.
I selected Play From the Beginning of the Story, which put me outside of the Sol System. Then I traveled to the Risa System. I tried that once with the mission on my que and after dropping the mission.
I didn't think about playing a map and then beaming out of it. I'll have to give that a shot.
Edit: Just tried it, plus tried starting from a place like ESD. The beam out button is greyed out and the transporter chief doesn't even give me the option to beam back to my ship.
I don't think it's possible to use floaters off of Risa in any case.

I also can't get to Risa. I have a level 24 toon and no button appears to enter Risa space. I can't beam up from maps either as the beam up button is greyed out. Which doesn't even matter as no enter system button appears. Just a button for a Foundry mission which you can't enter anyway.
I wonder if you set the mission door on old risa, then test a map, any map, and beam out. that put on old risa from which you might be able to get to new risa?
I think I tried that as well. I set the door to an object on the Old Risa Map, like a beach chair. I still couldn't beam out though. However, I didn't enter the mission door. I may try that later on today.
