cant customize fleet phantom appearance

just bought myself the fleet phantom intel escort, went to customize its appearance, and discovered it flat out refuses to take any of the changes period. I dont know what to do to fix this.

anyone have any ideas?
Murphy's laws:

    ok..this bug affects both c-store and fleet versions of the phantom intel escort.

    there was a workaround posted on reddit. Try changing the Emblem from the UFP logo to your fleet emblem.
