Lohlunat Pearls Question

I have 3 characters that are L55 with over a stack of Lohlunat Pearls each. I can not buy the Specialization Points till I get to L60 so I am searching for the drop dead date to acquire the points.

My question is:

What date do I need to reach L60 in order to buy Specialization Points with Lohlunat Pearls.


The page does not talk about that aspect of that deadline.

    Like all exchange stores they are a permanent fixture and only those with the exchangeable currency can access it. Once you spend the pearls you'll no longer be able to see the store but it will still exist.

    Nooooooo! any unspent pearls you have when the event starts will be lost.

    I read that to mean this is the date the pearls will be removed.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    Clarification please.

    So there is no rush for me to get to L60 to spend my existing Lohlunat Pearls for Specialization Points?

    I am just worried that I will not get too L60 before they take away the exchange

    It appears that you must spend them before June 4th. To be safe that is what I would assume.

    According to Trendy:
    It should show up as only visible to those who have pearls. The intention to have numerical trade-ins from a single pearl was probably to make sure someone didn't get stuck with pearls they couldn't trade in.

    After a player has no more pearls in their inventory, the store shouldn't be visible anymore. It'll be an indefinite feature, because it wouldn't require maintenance or any foreseeable changes.


    This implied the pearls you have are permanent just like the people who have the Risian Corvette have it permanently.

    "Retiring" pearls is just the same as "retiring" the corvette... it's "no longer available" not "being taken away"

    But there is no reason to keep them if you can never spend them again after June 4th. So taking them away or letting them sit is meaningless to the discussion. If you can never spend it then it is effectively taken away.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Yeah, I changed that after I realized I mistyped it.

    Nobody is saying/has said the pearls go away on June 4....

    and NOBODY is claiming to already have excess "Summer 2015 Risian Pearls" either....

    I would also like to call for clarification as it's not explicitly said anywhere other than being implied that the pearls store is permanent(not ending on June 4th) which would mean the Pearls themselves aren't disappearing... yet everyone in here that's /not/ me and the OP seems to be utterly staunch that the perals are somehow going to magically disappear....

    I swear.... if you guys are gonna claim the pearls are going poof you need to raise hell about your Corvette and Yatch being taken away from your ship list too as those are being "retired" as well.

    You can spend the pearls in the buyback store. That's the "indefinite feature" the Trendy was talking about. so, as long as you have pearls, you will also have a place to spend them until you no longer have any.
    This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

    if you think its worth the risk and you may be right, I don't know for sure but I would not risk it.
    I would rather spend them on something I can buy even if its not really what I want then loose the chance.
    you will always earn more spec points so why focus on them, get stuff that doesn't require you to be lv60 like the emotes.

    they seem to be very restrictive with access to the rewards, I would have thought they would have included the winter and anniversary currency's so we could maybe mix odd amounts to buy items and maximize our rewards but it looks like they wont even let us spend them till just before the event and I`m betting the cut off for spending them will be just as sharp.

    the other poster is right they may stay in your inventory and not be removed entirely but will you be able to actually use them that is the point.

    This statement is correct.

    Cleaning up / destroying existing Pearls in players' inventories would be highly data-intensive, and isn't really necessary. They will no longer be useful for anything other than the Trade-In store, so there's no real reason to keep them around, but we don't currently have any plans to forcefully eliminate them from your inventory.

    If there is explicit communication out there that is contrary to this, please point it out and we'll try and get it rectified.

    Yes there is a reason to keep the pearls.
    i am L55 on 3 characters and there is no way to make it to L60 by the 4th to buy traits. I may not even make 1 charicter to L60. Geez guys we need more time than the 4th!


    I just want to buy traits with my pearls but need time to level!!!

    Also the wording seems to not be clear. they need rewords the rules on pearls.

    Now I can sit back and enjoy the leveling process. And spend my pearls in the near future. Whew!
