sorry guys from cryptic, but its just bad, like some b-movie.
im not disappointed,t i cant see any effort behind this episode..
guys where is this war>>???loading screen screaming the iconian war and then, you can sit on your TRIBBLE for hours in space and nothing happens, its funny and sad.this content is rushed again, war wtih no content, what to do run 4,5 Qs again, and again, this is war???
Guys some foundries are better then last episode...
Maybe is time to play something else. see you in six months..or not:P
well then i suggest you replay the cardassian struggle over and over if you want long drawn out missions that seem to never end.
Personally i like this one it was short and to the point as i would expect a covert ops mission to be your there to do your job and get out not sit around and drink tea.
At least this mission has some KDF perspective. Pace and length are ok in my view. However, I am not happy with the surroundings, too bright, flashy and colourfull. Neither am I a great fan of the Iconians in general, too much fantasy themed. The combat is also chaotic, because of all the special effects. I have no clue sometimes, what is going on. Perhaps it will get better by replaying it.
I get this feeling that my characters are in a different game
I was a little worried for a minute that something might happen to B'Elen. I did not want to have to go back and break the news to her mate - and be broken in return.
Kahless might have fared better if he'd forgone the mid-battle expository speeches, but some guys are like that, you know?

After the last mission, I'm not sure I could have taken another one of those...a shorty between...worked well for me.

Going in with something more than a pointed stick would have helped too. I mean I have a copy of that sword and it really doesn't hold up well next to my Mk XIV Dyson Rifle.
But hey, it's illustrative. :P

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Well agreed it was kind of short (& not "that good") ... but it seems they're going to release new FE's every 3 weeks or so ... so I'm fine with it ... not as good as late 2010 (3 FE Series within 6 months) ... but still better than stupid Patrols & other soulless Grind etc ...
I'm actually "surprised" about how much "Story Content" is being released these days ... *thumbs up* ...
Kahless has a Leroy Jenkins thing going on. The Sword Of Kahless is great as an inspirational tool and symbol and all, but as a weapon its just steel (or whatever alloy). And the Iconian even accepting his challenge??? It'd be like if a squirrel walked up to you with a pointy twig and demanded a duel of equals. I'm surprised she didn't just vaporize him without even turning to look or saying a word (that would have been hilarious). Personally I find this whole arc 0 for 3 so far.
The Kahless bit, a might weird, but it served its purpose of demonstating what we're up against, and that none of us, individually, is any match for them.
And a special thanks to Taco for the beautiful interior design! Especially the glassy floors, with that sort of lava mass underneath, were gorgeous! For the upcoming Iconian lockbox bridge, that's what I'm looking for, pretty please! :P
I thought this mission was great. It had a unique style to it very much like an episode from one of the tv shows. The combat was not hard and drawn out, the story added to the enriching and unique experience. It was a good mission! There is a war going on in the story, and while I agree the events going on around like red alerts would have been better if it were iconians randomly attacking planets and whatnot. this is kinda like they did in the show with ben sisko doing paperwork on a starbase watching the dominion movements and invasion, planing the next move in the galactic chess game. This mission struck true and felt like it should as a covert ops mission. Oh my amazement as I found out who I would be fighting along side. I expected Nog...I got one better. I was saddened by the ending of the ground mission. I wished at that moment my character had ripped a batleth out of the hands of one of the klingons and jumped in to continue. The story was ritch and engaging and that alone made this mission great! After what happened on the planet I took it out on the poor Heralds who attacked as we were transmitting the data burst. Next up to do this is my klingon and I assure you I have a titanium rending batleth with Iconian names being carved into the blade.
Am I the only one that notice the Lethean warrior using a phaser to repair in the KDF ship ?
Since when KDF uses phaser !!! Cryptic is once again incompetent
the mission is totally average.
My KDF, and my Feds and Roms, use whatever weapons drop during Missions. Maybe he does too.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
Of course each faction only uses those weapons their faction produces. That's why the Andorian I sent on that mission came home with a pulsewave disruptor, because Starfleet makes disruptors, right?
You use what works. If you need to weld something, and the handiest tool for that is a phaser, you don't let someone's prejudices about what tool you're supposed to be able to get stop you.
As far as story missions go, it was the most predictable to me so far. I know we're not to expect 'The Sixth Sense' type of writing or anything but, as soon as the reformed artist showed up, I knew he was cannon fodder. LOL
Still, the combat was fun on my engineer and the spec point reward made it worth doing once this week.

No OP, I really agree on those two here. Perhaps Cryptic does not get everything right but as far as new episodes in recent seasons are concerned they really do a superb job.
I also like the comparison to TW shows. Some episodes in STO are that good that I almost feel like being part of a Star Trek episode.
Sure some feel better than others but (like with the shows) much is probably only personal preference but we have some cool varieties story wise for that.
My DR Klingon had the time of her short virtual life yesterday in the new one.
Was cool, so good job to all devs who worked on it!

What? You want more? It wasn't filled with padding (the flying specific distances from the Klingon ship and scanning was something I could have dispensed with, but apart from that...), Kahless had a conclusion to his character arc from TNG, and I got to be really worried over what turned out to be nothing twice (worried they'd kill off half of the Klingon couple, worried that the appearance of a Harbringer of M'tara meant there were two Iconians on the base instead of one and that one of them was the Big Bad).
Length felt good, especially since the map was out for the mission, which could have let it feel too long.
Felt unusually extraneous to affairs during the mission - maybe being able to aim the Omega beam instead of just three interaction pieces would helped feeling like contributing to Kahless's last battle?
Fate - protects fools, small children, and ships named Enterprise Will Riker

Least tedious spec point I've ever earned, including being a Dewa "exploiter". But it's fine now, I'm playing the content they want me to play, yay metrics!
The mission was okay overall. Story sucked, visuals were nice, stupidly easy for a great reward. 7/10, will play two more times.

Couldn't resist this, but have you tried not playing as a Reman? ^^
And a merry freaking Christmas to you too, Ebenezer.

You win the thread
Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.
I dare you to do better.

Better than boring... and long.
Not an IP I would play personally but I heard it offers a deeper and richer MMO experience than STO.
