Hmmm...
Alien starfleet tactical officer + "Face" from where? + Gorn body WTF? + Nausicaan armor parts ... and Borg eye implant without lifetime subscription, seriously?
Caitians can't normally look like Humans and Aliens can't use Gorn appearance options.
And frankly, there are real glitches, which should be pursued and weeded out, which negatively affect the game, than couple of odd and funny costumes out there - if anything, I'd rather see the creativity with the tailor and our characters to be allowed and supported, not deemed as a glitch.
I never personally understood these restrictions, because there's no real impact on the gameplay - so ie, if they gave Lifers ability to put on Borg implants on any species, useable on our boffs as well, it'd not make us "imba" or any advantageous, it'd merely allow us to further make the crew we want.
IIRC one of the devs mentioned they have this leverage for themselves, for making NPCs' special - but correct me if I am wrong - the game is mainly defined by the players who play it, and the game largely is and becomes what the community makes it, not bunch of pre-programmed NPCs; and as such, I strongly believe that players should have the same leverage & freedom in this, as long as the costume pieces were already obtained by the player.

Also, these all seem to use the classic 'Undo Trick' of which you interpuds are apparently woefully unawares. Read what I just wrote and figure it out.
But yeah, it's not fair that people are able to do such great things and not all the people can.
I've always themed my crew around Liberated Borg, and it's weak I can't give the implants to any boff or character, other than the predetermined ones, Klingon/Human/Romulan, based on faction, and then couple of boffs, where I can't pick career, gender nor race, despite of being Lifer. People wouldn't result in using tailor-"glitches", if they had more freedom with the outfit they quite often purchased for money/Zen.
And if I knew how, how to unrestrict the tailor, like some people are able to.. well... >___<

My character Tsin'xing
When you save a custume, all info about your character is in there, time some smart coder make a app so we can change it off-line (with mixing) and save it.
My character Tsin'xing
Caitian + Exploits...
In other threads people asking for more hairstyles, color pallets & other suggestions.
Someone using cheats\exploits to crack tailor without any punishment.
And Devs don't care at all...
That's sad
My Caitan, and Ferasan want hair like that!
We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!
With a lot of the things that have been going on, i doubt that CBS really even cares what they're doing, or is even paying attention. At this point, is Cryptic even?
On a more serious note though, even if CBS were the ones saying no to mixing and matching (unlikely), there are a lot of other great things from Champions CC that we should be getting for STO as well. The biggest thing is the sliders. While we share most sliders, there are a few in champions still that would benefit STO in a big way, like overall mass, or muscle. God knows the current male body looks terrible. It's like somebody painted abs and such on a chubby dude, even when the body isn't chubby. The female characters aren't nearly as bad, but it would be nice to have more control over the physical look of the character.
Even allowing better proportions would be a step up. Going to max everything leaves everyone so awkward looking. Trying to make larger people often leaves them way too top heavy and strange looking.
Considering that this is supposed to be our Character Creator 2.0, they've really not done anything with it... at all... It was just a different look for the UI. Considering how much variation on everything there is in star trek, it really does seem way too limiting for making our own people or costumes. The armors alone would improve 1000% if we could mix and match parts from other styles as well as have a unified color wheel. There are a few pieces that don't even have the same palette as other items in it's own set, making matching the colors difficult.
And again, as always. Please give us full body skins for the more Iconic species. Borg especially, since they cost so much to play as. Five years, and I still can't use any open uniforms because of how lazy cryptic has been.
After five years and all of the issues this game is having, we deserve a better character creator.
Another Caitian + Human face\body...
And starfleet someone + Orion female outfit...
So... How people do that?

Seriously?
Don't bother asking. Those people aren't going to talk about it in public and certainly not in the official forum, that would just get whatever it is "fixed."
What you should be asking is: When are these features going to be available to non-exploiters?
License issues and legal annoyances are why we have Ferasans and not Kzinti KDF side
Cryptic probably really doesn't care one way or another if your Caitian has a human face -- but the series owners probably do. It's the same reason some companies freak the heck out over fanfic and such.
That being said -- it would be cool to have more options in the costume editor. Not necessarily allowing players to alter fundamentally how Caitians (or other established franchise species look) but putting their pieces (like cat ears) into the costume editor.
If people are intentionally messing around with the saved costume profiles somehow.. eventually that will get fixed. Then those people will end up with broken characters. You can expect epic whine threads when that happens.
Klingon shoulderpads - restrictions - only for Klingon faction
Bortasqu wrists - restrictions - only for Klingon faction
Orion female top - restrictions - only for Orion female
Romulan belt\skirt - restrictions - only for Romulan faction
Liberated borg implants - restrictions - only for Liberated borg (lifetime subscription)
AND all of this wear... Vulcan Starfleet science officer without lifetime subscription (should not have access to L.Borg parts at all).
P\S. People hacking\exploit tailor... no punishment and nobody bother...
Ppl can't mix Kobali uniform parts + Omega force armor parts on naked body + Human face\body on Catian... Kobali parts only shows that this TRIBBLE outfit is "fresh and new".
You could always try asking PWELaughingTrendy if you hurry in the PWELaughingTrendy AMA thread

But i don't have party invitation
Because really, people would have more reasons to spend Zen for things like costume slots and more outfits from Lobi-store & C-Store if we could mix stuff up more, in an unrestricted way, aside of the fact that it'd let everyone to get creative. There's no harm in this. This 'I can't have it, so I'll be a negative poo poo to everyone who can' won't get you sympathy from most people here and is unlikely to positively impact the game in any way either.
