Encountering the new toys...

For the purpose of this discussion, Blue equals the Federation and aligned Republicans. Red naturally equals to Klingons and aligned Republicans.

Starships such as the Negh'var, Vor'cha, Galaxy, Sovereign, Defiant, Intrepid, Deridex and Mogai are typically the better known (and more classic) ships of the late 24th century. In multiple space encounters (regardless of factions played) we typically find ourselves up against these various ships.

Now, I don't know how you'd look at it from the Red perspective, but from the Blue perspective (where we're battling Tal Shiar and rouge houses of the KDF) why are we never encountering any of their newer ships? Why, when flying around as a Starfleet Officer, aren't we meeting random Mogh Battlecruisers in these fleet alerts, or Mat'Ha Raptors, or maybe even a Romulan Dhelan/Aelahl Warbird?

Surely the rouge houses of the KDF (and the Tal Shiar) are able to acquire and utilize these newer designs? If the KDF and FED are/were always stealing schematics and technology from each other, then you can be damned sure that the Tal Shiar would be able to acquire schematics from the Republic.

Just curious...

Usually Rogue elements don't get their hands on the latest and greatest from the military they broke away from, and if they dis, they guard them to the hilt.

Mental image of 3 Klingons in full battle armour looking at the mirror and just pouting their lips while putting on "rouge" lipstick and making a date so they can watch the notebook....again :D

They could at least include the Tal Shiar Battlecruiser and Destroyer for the Romulan Star Empire.

A bit funny that the upstart Republic has the manufacturing and R&D base to be pumping out so many new designs, yet the Star Empire can't even manage to field their two original designs.

Those are tal shiar ships, not star empire. Remember there's four militaries in post bonus romulan space: small group of star empire loyal to donatra, most star empire loyal to sell, tal shiar/elachi, republic.

The newer missions with sela make this quite clear they are not the same.

I doubt any Romulan would be too happy about being referred to as a Republican.

Theres also chronology to consider. Early T5 was state-of-the-art during all the early-game Fed-KDF / Republic-Tal-Shiar war missions, but by the time Late T5 and T6 stuff started coming out, those wars were over and the focus was cooperative missions in the Solanae Sphere and Delta Quadrant. Early Fed players never run into B'vat's shiny new Mogh because at that time there are no Moghs yet.
